I can understand why some of the other players caught flack but the negative comments towards Selvie's game drove me nuts. He's one of the 15 best players to ever don a UConn jersey and is arguably our best power forward ever.

No. He's not.

But anywho, the two players who drew the most flak here were Ricky Moore and Taliek Brown. Coincidentally, they both won their last game in a UConn uniform...

I don't know who's third, but they're a long, long way back.

Ricky Moore more than Dyson? really? I remember everyone praising Ricky his senior year up until the championship game…. granted not so much earlier in his career. But Dyson caught flak the entire 4 years he was here.

I can't tell if your being serious or not? I hope your joking. The best power forward in the "modern era" hands down is Jeff Adrien. If you think Selvie is better than JA you have problems.

Selvie was a fan favorite as far as I remember. Dyson on the other hand....

Moore was the gold standard until Taliek came along.

Taliek took so much flak here that SI led the commemorative issue with a paragraph describing exactly how this place treated him.

Dyson took grief, but it was amateur-hour compared to the first two.

Johnny Selvie became an all-time favorite of mine when he threatened to punch faux-retro-tough guy Eugene Edgerson in the mouth.

I said top 15 because I knew some people would disagree, I really think he's top 10. Shabazz, Rip, Kemba, Okafor, Ray, Donyell, Selvie, Khalid, Caron, Gordon.

He did a complete 180. Or a 360 if you consider we loved him at the end of his freshman year. Sophomore year was a nightmare as a point guard on a young team - junior year with KEA he played shooting guard and couldn't shoot (and wasn't Ricky yet on defense, although he was good). Senior year he killed people early in the year (Cleaves, Cummings, etc.) and we all stated taking about clamps and elephants in heads (thank Al McGuire for that one).

Taliek was hated by some until the end. People hold the Duke game against him in the Fjnal Four (when he admittedly didn't play well) in an otherwise excellent tourney run while his backup was home playing Xbox (or whatever ineligible players played back then). To my knowledge, Taliek remains the only guy perpetually ripped for a performance in a tourney win.

Marcus Williams should be No 1 on this list, but he looked pretty so he put up with all his BS. Story of the world.

Selvie had his fans, but generally I remember him being blamed for many a loss. especially around these parts. I also remember Brian Fair "in the days before the boneyard" being absolutely buried by the fans. I think the game where the ball bounced off his face and went out of bounds "against G. Town" and we lost sealed his fate.

What did the paragraph say? I would love to see that. Poor Taliek couldn't do anything right in the eyes of the fans.

It's Selvie's trophy, look at Caron signaling that Johnnie is #1!

Not sure Stanley should be on the list, but if so, AO would be the starter, and Sticks would be the benchwarmer.

Scottie Haralson, Donnell Beverly, Tyler Olander, and Ben Eaves got a lot of negative comments during their UConn tenure.

Taliek is the one player posters still continue to hate on, even after starting 4 years, leading UCONN in all time assists, and winning multiple conference and BET Championships. Oh, and a National Championship.

"bbbbbbbut they won DESPITE Taliek...."

Brought this to mind:

My All Warrior Team:
Taliek
Rickey
Caron
Kfree
Jeff
Coming off the bench:
Kemba
Dyson
Lyman
Donny
Sellers
In a dark alley bonus:
Saunders
Toraino

I'm in that crowd. Not gonna get any "likes" for it but I'm just calling it like I saw it. He improved over his career and I like him as a person, but he's not even close to cracking my top-5 UConn point guards.
