One thing I've noticed is that these recent Hurley teams DO get up for the bigger games.
Even individual players step it up against better competition.

JStew's best defensive game was against Dixon
We played Illinois better than any early round team.
We played Florida better than Oklohoma
Solos best game saved us against a very good Marquette team late in the season.

While...
We lose to Seton Hall
We go down to the wire in 23 with GTown at home.
Iona/st Mary's were among our toughest tourney matchups.


Granted this isn't always true, just a reminder that we cant copy and paste performances against one team to another

It's human nature and happens at almost every level, it's tough to get up for some teams when you know what's on the horizon.
That is true. I heard someone (unnamed) talk about how Reed or ER weren't overpowering Columbia's or New Havens bigs so they will thus have big trouble with BYU and other top line bigs. I dont think it's tit for tat like that
