Alex Karaban 6/13/24 entire press conference

I saw that @huskymedic posted almost 2 minutes of this almost 12 minute long interview held earlier today where he specifically discusses throwing out the first pitch at the Yankees-Red Sox game at Fenway Park this weekend... but after watching all of it I think it is worthy of posting and letting all of you watch it as well.

How can you not love this guy? And how can you not absolutely love the relationship between him and Dan Hurley. It is so special to be a fan of this entire team, including coaching staff and players. Whether he has a long career in the NBA or not, Alex Karaban is going to be highly successful in whatever he decides to do in life.



P.S.: If this has been posted in its entirety already, my apologies to whomever posted it first. After watching it I thought it deserved its own thread... and since I was unable to find it, I figured I would put it out here for everyone to easily find it.

Excellent point @superjohn, and I totally agree. @Ricker said that both Jordan Hawkins his junior/senior summer and then Alex Karaban in his junior/senior summer the year after were each his "must haves" in recruiting those years. He was spot on both times.

This is confirmation that UConn is now Alex's team. Hurley trusted him to talk this over and get his feedback on how the team's doing. Alex then made sure to let the team know that coach hadn't made a decision yet and try to reassure his teammates.

Alex is not only a special player, but a special person as well.

Truth be told I think @husky429 gets the Hawkins credit. My post in 2019 was that Karaban / Clingan was my wish list for 2022, and then in January 2020 at Hoophall I gave Tom Moore my note that added Sanogo as my 2021 wish with the others. Tom got him a year early. After the Clingan / Karaban commitments I posted that my whole wish list came true so I was going to have to 'man up' on the Boneyard if it doesn't work out. You guys have been generous to keep this 'tongue in cheek' dialogue rolling. Hey, maybe that note to Tom Moore was the turning point in the program?
