I have seen worse ref screw jobs, but the most remarkable about that game is how completely expected it was that the refs would step in and take the game over. Either the clock is set at 23 seconds, or they have a first down. Taking away the first down and running off 8 seconds doesn't make any sense at all. On the last play, the Michigan DB tackled the Akron receiver at the line, and it wasn't even a judgment call by the ref. There was a bad pass interference call on the previous Michigan drive.
It isn't bad officiating when the calls always break the same way. It is cheating.
