Surprised this has yet to be posted, but saw this on Twitter courtesy of Colonel Calhoun’s retweet (great follow if you don’t). Anyone hearing any rumblings about this? Seems the last we heard from Hurley is that he wasn’t ready for a couple weeks.

We need to give Akok a pass on his return. He has a lot of rust to shake off but his mere presence in the paint will bring value to the team.

Shouldn’t we wait to see what he does before giving him a pass? With his work ethic, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if he had an impact from day one - in which case, for what are we giving him a pass?

Just having another body to backup Whaley who can get in foul trouble is good enough for me. Akok is gonna be key this year but we need to ease him back in and he will be very rusty for a few weeks. (In before the boneyard nitpickers if Akok gets 5 fouls in 10 minutes)

Hurley has not confirmed that he will play tonight.

“He’s getting closer, he’s looking good,” Hurley said. “It’s hard to give a timeline, but he’s definitely getting closer. He looks good.”

Hurley would not commit to an exact date for Akok’s season debut but said that he wants to wait until he is mentally and physically ready to come back.

“There’s no get-well games in this league where you could bring a guy in and let him get his feet wet versus a bottom feeder in the league,” Hurley said.

If Akok plays tonight, I'm thinking he will only play around 5 min maybe 8 at the most. Going to be a process. Hopefully by February he is fully ready to go.
