AK is back - are we not done with Portal ?

Mahaney had highly productive performances against high level programs at St. Mary’s correct? They thought it would translate. You can bet that the evaluation process was looked at to find out what went wrong but there are human factors. We think that this team going in to next season is fairly bulletproof? Gotta play the games to really find out what is what.
Duke’s roster walked on water. What happened?
Agree. Who here didn't get excited when we landed Mahaney? Apparently most, including the staff, didn't predict that he would not be strong enough nor quick enough to defend his position, and have poor lead guard instincts to make quick and correct decisions with UConn's complex multi-action motion offense.

Chalk it up to lesson learned.

Yep. That's exactly how I read it. I think what they learned last year will show very early this year. I can see a team just as good the 24 team because of the oversights with last years team.
Plus, The "but we dont have clingan argument" will become passe when you see what Kodiak becomes next year.
I am pumped to see what Tarris does with one more year in this program in a feature role.

Anxious to see who develops more this year: Reed, Jr., or Stewart. I think we are done with the portal / signings as we have 13 guys - maybe we squeak in a practice C but Hurley doesn't seem the type to max out schollys.

Not sure you can say that from a player we haven't seen play that he will score more than McNeeley who was big east freshman of the year. Also, i think Mullins will be oir 4th to 5th option on offense so doubt he scofes more than McNeeley. I have faith in Stewart/Mullins combo that we will have consistent production there.
Of course you can. Its called a projection. Its what we do here. And its no offense to Liam. Mullins appears to be much better offensively. Let's hope that offense carries over into college!

If we get anything close to Liam in year one, we should be thrilled

Why is that? Love Liam, but I think it’s actually safe to say he was a bit of a disappointment compared to expectations. His shooting in particular was much worse than advertised.

I think our overall offensive talent will be better this here than last, and am hoping Stewie wins the starting SF role. This would give Mullins the opportunity to come off the bench without huge expectations and focus on being a dynamic shooter/scorer.

Yes, he was not "the best shooter in the country" as advertised, yet still lead our team in scoring, finished 2nd in rebounding, and 3rd in assists as a Freshman, all while being the focus of other teams' top defenders and coming off an injury and being asked to do WAY more than any player on the team except, perhaps Diarra. The kid will most likely be drafted in the top 20 after 1 year.

Do I wish he shot the ball better and/or was more efficient last year? Of course! Do I think Mullins has the opportunity to be a more efficient shooter next year in a more limited role? Yep. But to look and say "...Mullins looks to be much better than Liam was offensively..." by watching his highlight reels of cherry pick dunks and 3 pointers against lower level high schoolers..., I'm just saying we should be thrilled if Mullins' talent translates to the Big East level at anything close to what Liam's talent level was as a Freshman. Liam was the most talented player on the floor in many games.

He was shooting 39% from 3 before the injury, and shot 27% afterward.
And Mullins had a 6-6 3pt shooting night against a team and got UNC offer that evening post game.

He is a shooting guard who can play the wing and is now 6’6” so can get time at the 2 or 3 to rest Ball for 10 min and Stewart for 10 min. Furphy at the 3 remains to be seen.
