I’m constantly reminded that journalists can at times not know sh about the subject which they’re writing.   Good friend of mine worked for Golf Digest for 10 years and wrote about nothing but golf obviously, but decided he wanted a change.  Ended up working for a newspaper where he wrote about [S]golf[/S]…..investments… in the business section of the paper.   Never took any business courses, never had any interest in it, never had any money to invest bc he was also a gambler.  But he wanted out of Golf Digest.  Long story short, he ended up getting laid off in a year because I think people caught onto his lack of expertise on anything investment related.  But he is a constant reminder that anyone can write anything about anything, even in fairly reputable publications, and not know a thing about it other than what ‘the Google’ has to say.
