Advertising in DC

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere, but found this ad this morning on DC's metro. Love that we're advertising in the nations capital and actively trying to expand the brand. Let's hope this is all part of some bigger plot to get us a new conference home.

Yes, it's on another thread. I have been seeing the same posters on the PATH subway lines between NJ and NYC since early 2014 , including the night I took the PATH over to NYC to watch the title game, which I took as a good omen.

And it further confirms we're UCONN now, not the University of Connecticut. While I like it for sports, I must admit it's a bit jarring for academics. I saw an ad for for a humanities fellowship in the New York Review of Books that said UCONN and it seemed a bit too informal too me.

I love this move by the university. It's great to see UConn trying to elevate its profile across the eastern sea board.

As for the conspiracy theory, someone had to say it:

UConn advertising in NYC/NJ/DC = random on it's own (are these ads in Boston too?)
Effective 7/1/14, NYC/NJ/DC = B1G country
UConn = next B1G member (please allow 20 min for the official announcement)

I noted today however, that it has been replaced by a Mystic Aquarium billboard? I wonder if that has meaning in CR?

Hmmmm...you can't name your conference after an ocean and not have an aquarium in it. I'm calling Mystic Aquarium to the ACC or PAC by 2018. I'm off to post it on Twitter now.
