One of the better trips I had was a disastrous ski trip of cancelled flights and hotels. Once I got to the point of capitulation, I fell into a calm peacefulness. My kids thought I had snapped when I wasn't freaking out. I just told myself how lucky I was to be able to take the vacation in the first place, and even luckier to be able to adapt and book random hotels in random places....
