Gabby is a lot of fun to watch and root for. I think we all love this kid. Hey she is even starting to move her shooting range out. Next year maybe some 3's.

Gabby still has a lot of potential, if she develops a jumper she could be very kawhi Leonard like.

I'll try to say this tastefully: Her physical fitness is remarkable.

She has shown improvement in several areas since last year:
1. She has a better understanding of how Geno wants her to play basketball the UConn way, and what her roll is.
2. She has improved her free throw shooting from a dismal 40+% to a respectable 70+%.
3. She has developed a "consistent" mid-range jumper. Last year, she shot mostly turn-a-round lay-ups on the block, or rebound put-backs under the basket.
4. She's a better all around player because (as she said this past summer in an interview) "I know what I'm doing now. I know exactly what the coaches what and expect me to do. I also know what I can and can't do". I'm more confident now.

The best thing about Gabulous is that she's better now than she was at this point last season, but not as good as she will be next year. Her confidence will be through the roof, and she will be very difficult to stop. It's very plain to see that she has made that infamous sophomore leap. Carnac likes Gabby. ;)

My family and I spent 5 days there two summers ago. Our youngest granddaughter's fast-pitch softball team participated in a 32 team tournament in Reno. Her age group played all of their games on a mega field complex located in Sparks. We did a little shopping and some dining there. We enjoyed the city's hospitality, and their facilities were first rate. Very nice little town.

The biggest reason for Gabby's improvement may be that she is finally able to play. As Geno reminded us during his show, last year was the first time in two years that she was able to play instead of spending her time recovering and rehabbing.

She has a jumper and uses it and makes it 1-2 times a game.

One thing that impresses me about Gabby is her business-like comportment on the floor. She makes a great play on a rebound, gets it right back up with her half-hook, and then runs down the court with her expression barely changing. Very professional, I would say.

Her business like comportment is a product of Geno and his staff. Very few UConn players would beat their chest, or do a lot of "gyrating" after a good play. It's unnecessary and un-sportsman like.

Things that Geno finds distasteful are not exhibited on the court by his players. They find out real quick during their first few days of official practice what he wants and expects, and what will not be tolerated.

Three things you always see UConn players do:
1. They always run off the court during time outs and substitutions, and at halftime. Will never see a UConn player walk off the court. They have been told, that is not allowed. You jog on, you jog off.
2. They never argue with the officials.
3. If a UConn player goes down, the other four rush to her and help her up. I've players go down on other teams, and no one helps them up.
There is a certain "culture" within the women's basketball program. If you a part of the team, you must buy in to that way of doing things. Geno's way. The UConn way.
