Carl reports that Geno headed to Texas after the game to check out Lexi Gordon...a 2017 wing...
near Dallas. Hmm...I wonder if MoJet tipped him off about her. We are after a 'big' from Texas...don't remember her name...not sure if she is a 2017 or 2018 kid. MoJet can be the pioneer from Texas....followed by anyone else who wants to up their game and profile bigtime.

The two big Texans are actually class of 2018. Charli Collier 6'4" #2 in the class ( UCONN visit on 5 December for ND game)
Sedona Prince 6'7" and #4 in the class. Never heard Lexi Gordon mentioned with UCONN before but she is a 5'11" wing type player top 30 in the class looks like a duplicate of AEH and same class & position as Walker so that is an interesting development.

Appreciate that info! I confess i am overly excited about Charli simply because she is traveling huge miles on her own dime to come to Storrs.
That game should have a fantastic atmopshere....students still on campus before the Christmas break. Hope she brings her parents.
Would not be a bit disappointed if they flew up with MoJet's folks for the big game...chatted a bit.

I hope UCONN signs Charli also but IMO UCONN needs another big (in 2017) before she gets to campus because Butler will have graduated leaving freshmen Charli as the only true post player on the roster. The other Texan 2017 Jade Williams will help but she is more 3-4 not really 4-5.
Personally I like the foreigners Julia Reisigerova or anyone from the Russian U19 frontline.

Butler should be with the team through the 2018 NCAAs. She has this year 2016 and two more of eligibility 2017, 2018.

Gordon's stock rose over the summer. Bret McCormick said she improved more in 1 year than any player he's seen. Geno and the staff definitely became interested after her summer, as have a lot of other schools. Not surprisingly, Texas and Baylor are in the picture (she recently visited Baylor). Duke and Tenn may have visited her home or school.

UConn is also recruiting class of 2017 6'4" forward Jade Williams from Prestonwood Christian Academy in Texas.

Butler:
2015-16 RS Sophomore This Season
16-17 RS Junior
17-18 RS Senior ( Maybe?)
Charli Collier
18-19 Freshmen
19-20 Sophomore
......
......
There is no overlap & Butler might leave early-after 16-17 Season

Gimme her, Coco! And Storrs will remind her of Moscow in winter. She'll love it.

Blake , what would be nice is if MoJeff's folks sought out Charli's folks after arriving on campus , to put in a good word for UConn even if they don't fly up together or have never met. The atmosphere will be electric and the crowd howling for the Huskies at such a big game.

GO HUSKIES !!

Geno is watching Charli Collier again as well as Sedona Price, the top-rated center in '18, and former target Deauzya Richards.

She would definitely fit the bill. Mike Flynn has dubbed her best FIBA youth player since Stewie.
FYI that was Epiphany Prince # 10 throwing her some of those passes so they must have move her all the way up to the Russian National top team. UCONN as her next stop would be amazing.

Slu help me with the "former" part as it relates to Richards. Also if Geno is really looking at Gordon & Richards is that a sign we are not in good shape with Walker?

Coco- Wow, that's some high praise. As a total 'outsider' and not privy to any of the inside info you and a few other Boneyarders have access to, I enjoy reading your informative commentaries and speculations. I know a lot is intelligent guess work and heard-it-on-the-grapevine stuff, but I love it nonetheless. Thanks.

So who do you know who can put the Maria Vadeeva bug in Geno/CD's ear? How about you text fellow Muscovite Svetlana (I heard you're buds) and get the recruiting ball rolling to Storrs. Vadeeva has a fabulous upside, and Svetlana could help her with her English ;) Or maybe recruit that Russian kid below holding the trophy. I'll bet she could help us a lot. Or maybe the obnoxious kid on the right pointing.

Me buds with Svetlana? I wish! I'm pretty sure my wife would not allow it. She barely tolerates my obsession with all things Maya!
Last month there was discussion about these Russian in the Lauren Cox thread I believe which prompted me to write the post below. Svetlana would/could be a great resource but I'm sure if we can speculate on it the UCONN staff has already thought of something even better.

You are such a kill joy!:( " On to Baylor or ND"-how unkind. We are UCONN we want our cake and it better be chocolate too. You may very well be on to something with bringing other Russians to UCONN. But let's not use DT. We need to use Svetlana Abrosimova- who has been engaged in a fight to retain control of Russian basketball.

Honestly don't know. It sorta looks that way optically, but it would seem strange that they'd be moving on after Walker just put them in her final 7. It's possible the coaching staff just likes having a lot of tweeners who can play multiple positions 2-4.

Richards tonight. Not exactly sure for Price. The Texas Invitational tourney is this weekend where both Collier and Richards will play.

Geno was in Storrs today and tonight and he'll be coaching practice and attending the football game on Saturday. Maybe his assistants? Where is this information coming from?

Hmmm. Maybe it is an assistant. Got it from the OU board which has given out accurate info in the past.

Someone from UConn was supposed to watch Christyn Williams in Arkansas last night so perhaps whoever that was has moved on to Texas.

I hear UConn is recruiting Iwana Playlarg and Ima Quickone from Hungary for the 2017 season really hard. One is 6'-7" and the other is a waterbug 5'3". They've been dominating the European circuit for the past 4 seasons. Sources say they are unstoppable!!

CocoHusky, Are we still recruiting Kushkituah? Do you have any opinion on Eleah Parker? I saw her play two years ago and while still pretty young and raw at that time, has good upside due to great athleticism. Haven't seen her since due to being out of the country.
