Still a long way to Pat Summit's all time win total. Her final stats were:38 years-1098 wins-208 losses for a .841 winning percent.Looking over the active top ten, only one coach thus far has a higher winning percent.
Only three coaches in the active top ten have winning percentages over .800.Further evidence just how great a head coach Pat was,and why Tennessee was so good so many years.
Thought some might be interested.1 through 10 based on wins throughout their coaching careers.

These facts were compiled on Wikipedia/coaches with 600 wins.
Geno has averaged almost 31.5 wins throughout his coaching career. How lucky we are to have such an outstanding coach and coaching staff! No wonder we are spoiled,as fans!

I think Geno would need to coach seven more seasons to get to 1,099 victories. He's averaged 34 wins per season from 1993-94 to 2013-14, so it's safe to assume that he'd get there in seven seasons. Still, it's a tall order to coach that much longer, so we can't take for granted he will do so. However, if he not only breaks but shatters the record for NCs, you have to believe he's by far the best coach in WCBB history, regardless of the victories record. If he has 11 NCs, he far and away leads a much shorter list relative to the OP's, and his status is in the bag. :)

Agree with Alex that NCs is te key metric. He probably can't be #1 in total wins unless Tara retires first. And I suspect that won't happen.

As Geno himself said recently, no one talks about how many touchdown passes Joe Montana threw or how many points Bill Russell scored. That, to me, shows which stat HE thinks is most important/impressive.
