Of the top players who have announced, all are either going to an SEC or ACC school ... with the exception of Kailee Johnson to Stanford.

Wow. That's 20 of the top 29 (using my consensus rankings), with 8 undecided.

(Am counting ND as ACC.)

Would love if you could provide your consensus rankings! Those are staggering,but given
the SEC and the ACC becoming stronger and the BE "feeling like we are on the Titanic" not surprising. We will be fine and I suspect will not be long before we make a move

Two mega-stars in Georgia HS ball, and neither chooses the SEC.

The times, they are a changin'!

Plus another top 10 player from Georgia (Gray) picks the ACC as well. Andy Landers has to feel awful

I had no idea that Cheerwine was such a big factor in player recruitment! :)

Obviously you've never had Cheerwine ;) I almost boycotted Wendy's when they replaced it with Cherry Coke :mad:

Almost :D

Gonna be interesting to see how the Class of 2014 develops in terms of conferences.

Bet it tastes like cherry cough syrup......yuck.:(

One notable omission from the ACC schools: NC State.
Duke, UNC, Md, GaTech, VA, Miami picked up at least 1 top-30 player as did future ACC NDame
Fla St, VaTech, Syracuse, and even BC landed at least 1 top-100

That leaves Pitt, Clem, Wake, & NCSt as the only empty-handed schools.
Not good for Kellie Jolly Harper.

We can certainly hope. I believe most all UCONN fans know the BE is a sinking ship and I'm betting L'ville and RU are also trying to bail ASAP...

Agree that L'ville and Rutgers are thinking the same thing! The one big elephant in the room is money and that means Football! Pisses me off:mad:

Okay, let's play this out. If Louisville were to leave -- which could happen -- and Rutgers were to leave -- less sure about that -- where does that leave UConn? It certainly does not look like the ACC is interested in them. I'm not despairing quite yet, but this scenario would not be good at all.

Yeah, but And He Launders is expected to really clean up in this next class!

ACC continues to roll with #9 Kendall Cooper to Duke and #17 Kai James to Florida St today

From the Consensus Top 35 (counting ND as ACC) -- 7 of top 10 and 17 of top 35
ACC = 2,3,4,7,8,9,10,13,14,16,17,23,25,27,29,33,34
SEC = 1,5,6,19,21,22,24,26,28,32
PAC = 18
B12 = 30
BE = 31
B10 = 35
Undeclared = 11,12,15,20

SEC adds another with #20 Ronni Williams to Florida
So the only really top players left are Scaife, McCall, Small and Webb? (or did I miss something?) (and no that is not a firm)

Webb gave a verbal to Vanderbilt.

Just five top 100 players left:

#11 Erica McCall .. (#9 ASGR / #11 HG/ #14 BS)
#12 Tyler Scaife .. (#17/#9/#12)
#15 Ieshia Small .. (19/19/11)
#88 Ivey Slaughter .(69/79/-)
#90 Jayla Hobza ... (98/~160/65)

McCall is either headed to the Pac-12 or Big East, so she won't be added to this list, but Scaife is down to 2 SEC schools and 2 non-SEC schools. Small has Rutgers, Baylor, and South Carolina on her short list...not sure about the last 2 schools. Slaughter is from Georgia, but unsure who leads.

These leagues are going to be loaded next year...

Good weekend for Florida St. After getting #17 Kai James, they landed #88 Ivey Slaughter today.

And then there were 4 ...

#11 Erica McCall .. (#9 ASGR / #11 HG/ #14 BS)
#12 Tyler Scaife .. (#17/#9/#12)
#15 Ieshia Small .. (19/19/11)
#88 Ivey Slaughter .(69/79/-)
#90 Jayla Hobza ... (98/~160/65)

.-.
Mavunga had some interesting comments on McCall's choice...spoke of battling on the court and McCall getting buckets despite what people think. Pretty sure Uconn is the only team UNC plays of her three finalists and she would be a star at UCLA or Stanford...the only place she would have a problem getting buckets/minutes would be behind Stewart and Tuck at Uconn.

I remain super bummed about our 2013 dearth. I'm not trying to start anything...but I am so enjoying this year's long and strong bench. Makes for exciting BB.
