"Virginia was basking in its highest-ranked conquest in six years. The crisp weather was glorious, 3:30 kickoff time ideal. So what happened?

The Cavaliers’ home game Saturday against North Carolina State attracted fewer fans –46,030 –than the previous week’s upset of No. 12 Georgia Tech (47,692). Neither crowd approached Scott Stadium’s 61,500-seat capacity.

Which puts Virginia in the company of most of its ACC colleagues, all of whom struggle to win over a general public that is more discriminating and demanding, less affluent and loyal."

So... do we still need to expand the Rent?

Attendance looks about right with a couple of exceptions. The Jets and other pro teams don't sell out either. There are other things to do in Charlottesville and Atlanta, unlike Starkville, MS, Auburn, AL and Blacksburg, VA.

I know Duke has a bad football team, but getting only 24k to see Andrew Luck and Stanford is pitiful!
