ACC Did Permanent Damage

So says the ND AD! Wow how the mighty have been taken down. For those who think we should join the ACC think twice about what might happen to both our bball programs. Never mind football
This is the era in human civilization of: ghosting, acting for short term satisfaction, and selfish chaos. Who cares anymore. Seriously. Its like we're begging to join a conglomerate of thieves and infants. The other 3 conferences included

What are you implying? The ACC was right to back the full conference member over the partial conference member.

And The conference has bounced back in bball since last season. Way better than the BE this year

People don't care about the conferences anywhere near as much as they used to. They're too big and unwieldy and the teams don't even play each within the conference anymore to determine who is the best. Some of the rivalries are gone. The regionality is gone. The bowls with all the history are gone. Conference championships have lost their luster. As you said they're just conglomerates at this point.

Unfortunately we'll need the money so joining one of the conglomerates is important until things change again. At some point in the future it will be about brands...Ohio State football, Duke basketball, Notre Dame football, Alabama football, UConn men's basketball, Texas football, Kentucky basketball, Kansas basketball, UConn women's basketball.

Good points. I agree with this 100% im totally fine with using conference inclusion as a step-stool to continue the development of the overall brand. Youre also right that conference identification is a sham now. And we will work within the system, but not be of the system. We've had immense success in college sports. Ohio State and Alabama-esque type success without the stench.

Wonder what did more permanent damage, the ACC backing up their full time member or Notre Dame throwing a tantrum and claiming bowl games are beneath them...

And if Notre Dame gets angry enough to pull all sports out of the ACC that will surprisingly leave an opening to fill .....?

I think it's going to be a big IF that money will be out there. Live TV is dying quickly and streaming services are not making up the difference.

At this point, we gotta ride the wave we have. College athletics as we know it is pretty much on an irreversible path to its demise. So let's enjoy this moment we have. UConn bball is in a great spot.

Ah yeah. 4 ranked teams versus 2, 7 projected bids versus 3. Average of the 5 power conference leagues as of last week:

SEC. 54.18
Big 12 60.18
ACC 64.05
Big Ten 69.30
Big East 73.00
