They are going through an adjustment after having 3 Hall of Fame coaches all retire in a 2-3 year period.  They also lost several others in the same period.  Between Roy Williams, K, Boehiem, and Bennett they had guys who had won 10 national championships.  Add in a couple of other good coaches who also left, Laranaga, the Notre Dame coach, among them and it is easy to see they are going through an adjustment not unlike UConn after Calhoun or Villanova now.  Sometimes it takes a bit to land the right guy.  If every coach was as good as Roy or K, they wouldn’t be hall of famers.

It is possible, of course, that they won’t get it right.  Or not for many years.  But I hear that UNC is running out of patience and a year without a bid could bring change to Chapel Hill.  I suspect the Orange won’t wait too much longer.  I think adding UConn would also help to speed this adjustment!
