Just poked around their website for some information on UConn's first opponent over the Thanksgiving holiday.
As you might expect, this is not a tall team, with a couple of players at 6'2" and one at 6'1. One of the 6-2s, by the way, is someone named Esther Wallace, a senior from Springfield, MA. She seems to be an effective rebounder and averages about 5 points a game.
The team has a 1-3 record -- all nonconference games. Top scorer, at 17 points a game, is Maryiyah Laury, a 5'7" guard. They beat NJIT, and lost to Yale, Army and BC. Theybplay in the Northeast Conference, which features such teams as Sacred Heart, St. Francis of Pa, and Quinnipiac.
