"The Washington Mystics are engaged in trade conversations to find second-year forward Aaliyah Edwards a new home, sources told Kendra Andrews and Alexa Philippou.
Multiple teams have reached out to the Mystics to inquire about Edwards, and Washington is taking the calls, sources said."
I hope Dallas is making a calls!

I was just thinking a few days ago that Aaliyah would be great for either Indiana or Dallas if they had something to trade.

I must admit, I've been disappointed in her play and production this season. After making it to the finals of the 1 on 1 in the Unrivaled league, I really thought she was poised for a strong season.

Fast forward to now... I think she's just not as good as Iriafen or Austin, which is why she comes off the bench. But maybe a new team will breathe new life into her game. She was SO good at UConn, but it's just not translated to the WNBA... yet...

EricLA- - -I think a lot of Aaliyah problems were due to her back pain earlier in the season and she’s still catching up!
A trade might be the best thing for her!

Kiki ate up all of Aaliyah's minutes and AE has been underwhelming in the minutes that she has gotten. Hope she finds a place where she can shine!

She was injured the start of the season. Kiki is took advantage and is playing well. Not sure why you’re disappointed when she hasn’t gotten the playing time.

Could the Aaliyah - Paige duo be a redo? Wouldn't that be something? Dallas could definitely use AE. It could happen but don't get your hopes up. Whatever team she may end up on she will be a great teammate, solid rebounder and positive scoring threat. Best of luck Liya! Husky Nation will follow you wherever you go.

Her game always reminded me of Asjha Jones in that they're both physical 4s with face up ability, and both defend well but neither is a shot a blocker. Asjha was drafted by the Mystics, traded after her 2nd year and then blossomed into a star a few seasons later. I wouldn't be surprised if Edwards follows a similar career path.

Aaliyah played with Myisha Hines-Allen last year, too. They wouldn't spend much time on the floor together; I don't remember whether they did last year, but it would add some comfort level for both.

Here's some speculation on where she'd be a good fit.

TLDR: Dallas, Minneapolis, and Indiana
Minnesota has a LOT of frontcourt players, although neither Miller nor Kosu has played much this year, although Miller played pretty well last year. I'm not sure Edwards would have a clear place on their roster.

The Wings and the Fever both need help up front. I think Edwards could make the difference between Indiana being pretty good and making a postseason run. I would think their management would be interested in putting together a pretty good trade package.

Edwards and a 1st round draft pick for Arike straight up. Add in Carrington for Dallas and see if you can get Washington to throw in Olson.

So Dallas would get Edwards, Olson, 1st round draft pick and Washington would get Arike and Dijonai.

My point is I think Dallas needs to go all in on rebuilding. I think it's starting to be clear Bueckers, James, Quinerly, and Geiselsoder are a really solid rookie quartet. Yeru is pretty young (26). Do a complete rebuild and see where it takes you. Plus they could potentially have a lottery pick AND a 1st round pick next season if they could work that out.

No incentive for Washington. Ogunbowale doesn’t impact winning.
