Just looked at each of these teams seasons. Their win-loss records are interesting to say the least.
The three teams combined for 61 wins. Of those 61 wins only 4 were good wins. Not one win came against a Power 5 school or what would be considered even a comparable conference to the AAC.
UCF - 22 wins with 3 good wins. It was UC Davis, IUPUI and Jacksonville. All teams in conferences considered below the AAC. Counting N. Iowa is too much of a stretch and so is counting Houston and Cinn because they didn't beat anyone.
Houston of 20 wins had 1 good win, George Mason. That is being kind. Again a team in a conference considered below the AAC. Houston's most credible game was a respectable loss in the first round of the NIT to Mich State 65-58.
Cinn of 19 wins had 0 (zero) good wins. Houston doesn't count because Houston didn't have one good win all year.
NIT record of these teams was 1-3
