Can someone tell Jon Rothstein to zip up his pants when it comes to SMU.

SMU is a nice little team. Who was great at home. And AWFUL on the road. Losses to USF, Temple, and first round AAC exit to Houston. It's why they were an NIT team.

The vote was basically tied. I don't think that's a crime.

Jon Rothstein ‏@JonRothstein 1m1 minute ago
It's amazing that SMU isn't considered a unanimous favorite in the AAC. Mustangs return 8 of their top 10. Add Justin Martin, Ben Emelogu.
."

I was really concerned we were garnering too much hype before Rothstein stepped up and brought us all back down to Earth by crowning SMU as his personal favorite in the AAC. DOOOOOOMED

Boatright on the honor, and the poll, "that's why they call it the preseason." #UConn

Dom Amore @AmoreCourant · 3m 3 minutes ago
More Boat: "I'm honored, thankful for caoches to think I'm player of the year, but it's all about winning games for your team." #uconn

Boatright said he "called coach Ollie and asked him straight up" if he was leaving for NBA before making his own decision to return. #uconn

Dom Amore @AmoreCourant · 1m 1 minute ago
Amida Brimah said biggest thing he learned from last year: "stay out of foul trouble." #UConnHomecoming

Ollie says as long as he sees his players get "the best #uconn has to offer" in way of support for players, "then I'm not going anywhere."

PC won the BE tournament last year, to Johnny that's worth a Larry O'Brien trophy or two.

That tournament was pretty much teams from the middle of the pack of the Old Big East playing for a trophy.. playing PC would probably end up on espn3 if lucky

I'm pretty sure it was the Missouri Valley Conference they won.

I find this interesting. The AAC coaches certainly continue to communicate that the American will keep pace with the P5 for player benefits, but that's not stopping Ollie from using the mic to tie his commitment to UConn to it.

John Rothstein is in permanent masturbatory mode RE college basketball. Never seen a team he didn't like.

Say whaaaaa?
It's an offhanded remark that kids can't make consistent lay ups. Therefore a made lay up should garner more than the long range shot.

Or that they are so focused on 20'-6", that they aren't executing the simplest of high percentage shots.

You stated it the way I meant it. Now can you translate chaps with equal proficiency?
Sometimes. That guy is hit or miss. Either I understand it completely or I'd be better off if he left it in his native language.

He's a mensa dude. I sometimes find his shtick entertaining. But more often it's a miss for me. Don't care for his arrogance at all. And man does he bring sdhusky to a boil!

My understanding is that he made this pretty clear in his contract negotiations as well. In other words, as long as UConn does everything they can to keep this a first-rate program, he's going to be the coach of it.

I thought I read in an article that Markus Kennedy may be ineligible?

Yep! It's an insurance policy. I'm not worried as long as Sue Herbst is president. But any future presidents know up front what will happen if they change things.

Young teams often struggle on the road, but young players grow up and become savvy upperclassmen who win on the road. SMU will be strong. Which is good because with Louisville departing we need the other schools to step up.
