after seeing how they have shown up in the bowl contests, I can safely say that UCONN is in the afterbirth of conferences. they all look putrid.

I'll wait until the Navy and Houston games are done before I pile on.

Conference USA had the best bowl winning percentage last year and are leading again this year. Therefore, Conference USA is the best conference in America. Ok.

We needed a thread for this?! There is already a thread for the American Conference bowl games. But you just must feel your opinion and voice is more important than anyone else's.

What is their record against p5? I don't get the comparison, are you honestly saying the AAC is a good conference?

I'm saying bowl game winning percentag isn't the best metric to judge the quality of the conference.

Somehow, I feel the first rule of conference realignment is in play here.

Agree, but the AAC wants to consider themselves the "P6" yet they could realistically go winless in the bowl season.

Part of the reason is match ups. Thus far, Temple is the only surprise. I thought they were a really good team this year and they threw up a stinker. The other games were all good teams facing middling AAC teams. Not a great result thus, but not surprising either.

The only game we had so far that mattered was Tulsa vs VT and that was a barn burner. Memphis Auburn, Pitt Navy and Houston FSU. Those 4 games are the ones the American needs to be worried about. So far 0-1.

Bad date/bad time -

Just heard from ESPN that St. Petersburg Bowl between #UConn & Marshall drew overnight 1.9 rating, on low side of bowl ratings I've seen

Terrible slot and boring game. Unfortunately that style is not conducive to big ratings or gates unless it is winning 10 games per year.

As for the record most of the teams we lost to would beat most of the ACC as well but they don't get many opportunities to do so. We had a tough draw and haven't stepped up to it.

So in other words, the St. Pete Bowl out drew the Rays.

The AAC may not be the best conference for UConn athletics but it's still a decent conference overall. We're stuck here for now so we should support it because these conference mates will be our Future OOC schedule when we get into the B1G
