Ouch...

>>WOULD YOU SAY WR NOEL THOMAS HAS BEEN THE BRIGHTEST SPOT FOR THIS TEAM?:

"Yes, definitely, I would say that, absolutely. Especially considering how much he has persevered on that side. To shine over there is even more impressive, pretty spectacular honestly. Just based on how many circus catches he's had to make rather than catch and run opportunities for him, whether he'd have more receptions or not, he's the most prolific receiver in UConn history in terms of receptions. He'd have so many more yards had the balls been catch and run for him. He's really been spectacular. It's impressive just reading and looking at it, but it's been specatacular if you are invested in it and really, really watching it."<<

Diaco-speak translation:

"Yeah, he was great in spite of my brain-dead offensive scheme."

Thing is, I don't think he has a clue how to right the ship. He may have ideas, but none have made one iota of difference thus far, so why would the next idea be worth anything either.

The recruiting of the O line and Qb positions suggests strongly nothing is sitting on the shelf or in the hopper to change the fundamental weaknesses of this team. And on defense he has taken an above avg group of talent and clipped their wings with prevent schemes and emphasis on size/weight/strength vs speed.

This does not sound like love, respect, teamwork and unity to me with the use of "that side". I really hope that the O is still winning lunch and locker room decorum.

And boy, is he throwing Bryant Sherieffs under the bus bigly. clownshoes.

I'm glad he's so complimentary of the seniors...they deserve praise, but they deserved so much more than the dumpster fire they've been forced to play in.
Wish just one reporter would ask him why he deserves to stay even one more week.
The offense he's "meshed together?" If that isn't Diaco-speak...ugh. JUST GO. PACK YOUR BAGS.

WHEN YOU LOOK AT YOURSELF AND THIS SEASON, WHAT CAN YOU SAY ABOUT WHAT YOU TRIED TO DO AND HOW YOU ASSESS YOURSELF IN THIS MOMENT AS YOU LOOK FORWARD TO BRIGHTER DAYS?:

"I take full accountability for what I meshed together for 2016, which has produced the record that we have right now and specifically on offense. The offense, what I blended together to roll out is so abysmal that actually nothing looks good, everything looks terrible, which is not true, is an absolute mis-representation in every facet. So moving forward and I'm not trying to paint this with a nice brush, there are so many areas that are operating at a very high level that don't need to fixed, that I can see clearly what does need to be fixed, I know exactly what needs to be fixed and as soon as I possibly can, I'm going to fix it and we are going to get back to the step that we looked forward to taking. We brought this team from the dregs, back to a bowl in year two and surely was not anticipating a step back. We are going to get it fixed and some of that fix has already begun. We are going to get back to turning this program back around. I'm looking forward to it."

Used car salesman. The defense had trouble shutting down Maine.

Well in a sense that is about all he can say. He isn't going to say "I'm getting canned so this mess is someone else's problem." And he can't say "it's a mess but I have no friggin' clue what to do about it." So he says I'll fix it.

... and which quote does the AAC chose to disseminate on Twitter?

He's not wrong but still...
