AAC capitalizes on UCF’s New Year’s Six access bowl appearance to grow revenue
>>The conference reported $77.79 million in total revenue for the 2017-18 fiscal year, according to the most recent tax documents available and obtained by the Orlando Sentinel. The Knights were clearly the big winner, seeing a nearly 45% increase in annual revenue payout, going from $4.042 million in 2016-17 to $7.429 million in 2017-18.
The league’s numbers show a slight increase — 4% — from the previous fiscal year during which the league reported $74.47 million in total revenue.<<
>>Connecticut received $9.159 million, followed by USF ($8.914 million), Cincinnati ($7.610 million), Houston ($5.433 million), Memphis ($5.18 million), Temple ($4.987 million), SMU ($4.553 million), East Carolina ($3.885 million), Tulsa ($3.852 million), Tulane ($3.742 million) and Navy ($3.156 million).
UConn, USF and Cincinnati payouts were slightly higher because they are still being paid their shares of Big East exit fees.
Wichita State, which joined the conference last season as a full member in all sports except football, received a small annual payout of $11,691.<<
