College Basketball Bubble Watch - Bubble Watch: Can Indiana save its upside-down season? - NCAA Men's Basketball - ESPN
Locks: Cincinnati, SMU
Work left to do: Houston
Houston [20-8 (11-5), RPI: 54, SOS: 73] After Sunday's super-tight 72-71 win at Memphis, Houston is still in the mix, and it might be an interesting test case. It will be fascinating to see how the committee weighs a team like the Cougars, who are 20-8 overall and 11-5 in a mediocre American, versus a team like, say, Vanderbilt, which could end the season 16-15 overall and 9-9 in the SEC with wins over Iowa State, South Carolina, and Florida (in Gainesville). And, for Houston, determinative.
Would love for Houston to somehow sneak in the tournament. Some metrics make them look much better than their RPI does. I think the Cougars are good enough to win a First Four game in Dayton and possibly a "second" round game against a 5 seed. Nothing more than that though.
