PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The American Athletic Conference has announced winners of the league's first weekly men's basketball honors for games ending Nov. 15.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
James Woodard • Sr. • G • Tulsa
Woodard scored 23 points to lead Tulsa to a 98-81 season-opening win over Central Arkansas on Saturday. He made 5-of-7 3-pointers, shot 8-for-13 from the field, and tallied four assists, four steals and four rebounds. He shot .615 from the field and .714 from 3-point range in the game. He went on a 7-0 run by himself early in the second half to extend Tulsa's lead from four to 11 points.

Shake Milton • Fr. • G • SMU
Milton had a game-high 17 points off the bench and added four rebounds, four assists and four steals for RV/NR SMU in an 85-50 win over Sam Houston State on Saturday. The freshman shot 77-percent (7-of-9) from the field and 3-of-5 (.600) from 3-point range in the season-opening win.

Octavius Ellis • Sr. • F • Cincinnati
Averaged 13.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 2.5 steals per game in a 2-0 week for Cincinnati. Posted a double-double (17 pts., 10 rebs.) in win over Western Carolina on Friday.
Amida Brimah • Jr. • C • UConn
Had 18 points, nine blocks and seven rebounds on 7-of-8 (.875) shooting from the field in win over Maine. His nine blocks tied a conference record.
Shaq Goodwin • Sr. • F • Memphis
Shot 6-of-11 from the field, had 15 points, a team-high nine rebounds and three blocks in Saturday's win over Southern Miss.
Chris Perry • Jr. • F/C • USF
Recorded a double-double (13 points, 17 rebounds) versus Troy on Friday. The 17 rebounds were the most by a USF player since 2010 and tied for fourth on The American's single-game records list.
Devin Coleman • Sr. • G • Temple
Had 19 points in 21 minutes versus No. 1/1 North Carolina, went 6-for-6 from the charity stripe and 3-of-4 (.750) from 3-point range.
