What’s the thought on this years AA teams?

based on the names that I’ve seen getting attention , seems something like (so far):

1st
Evans, Onyenwere, Howard, Boston, Cunane

2nd
Bueckers, H Jones, Dungee, A McDonald , Collier

3rd
R Davis*, Z Cooke, Hillmon, Joens, N Smith

* I would take Burrell but Davis seems to get the attention

But am curious for the opinion of the more informed on this ,,,

I'm not informed, but I think Hilmon makes first team. Playing on a top 20 team in a P5 League putting up those insane numbers.... She's almost a lock. I doubt Cunane makes first team.... has missed too many games.

Evans is a lock.... Boston as well.

Neither Owusu nor Burrell got any love from the Wooden committee. Dont know how correlated all the awards are, but that would seem like a bad sign?

I'm putting Bueckers ahead of everyone except Evans and Boston.

I've seen most of Rhyne Howard's games and if I'm drafting a team I take Bueckers over Howard every time.
If everyone was eligible for the WNBA draft tomorrow, Paige/Boston would be the top 2 picks. In terms of AA honors, Howard has proven to be elite in big games, having her best games against the toughest teams (excluding her Tennessee game). IMO, that gives her an edge over Bueckers right now since Paige hasn't proven that yet due to UCONN's light schedule. She had a good floor game but struggled scoring vs. Tennessee and was excellent vs. Arkansas despite the loss. The SC game will be big for her in terms of AA honors. If she lights up SC on Monday she'll probably cement herself as a lock for 1st team.

Potentially--everyone is overlooking Owusu since Maryland's expectations were low with so many transfers last year. She's a legitimate candidate to be a 1st teamer IMO based on play.

Burrell is likely going to be overshadowed by Davis come awards time if Davis keeps elevating her play. Davis has better rebounding and A/TO despite that Burrell has been the more consistent force all year. I see voters giving Davis accolades for a very solid collegiate career and Burrell getting similar senior treatment next year.

If Paige has a very good game against SC should absolutely be on the first team.

You wanna rethink the Paige placement now?

If Didi Richards gets defensive player of the year a second year in a row, should she be an all American even if her offensive stats aren’t there?

Id say she deserves at least 3rd team for that plus her eye popping 7 assists on a 3.5/1 assist/To ratio, but I dont know if anyone has made AA averaging as few points as she does (7.7). Chances are voters will pick Nalyssa Smith for 2nd or 3rd team and Didi gets HM.

Diamond Johnson deserves to be on the All Freshman team.

18.2 PPG on 55.6% shooting, 47.8% from three, and 88% from the line. 2 APG, 3.6 RPG, and 1.8 SPG is pretty damn good for a freshman.

Yeah you’re right! I know that when Niya Johnson was a senior at Baylor she had similar stats as Didi and she was an AA hm.

I would put Osborne in place of Clark. She is leading UCLA in scoring at 19.2 at 40% from both 3pt and FG and more importantly plays on both ends of the court. She actually has better numbers across all categories than McDondald. You could make the case she should be 2nd team and not McDonald. Clark is only an offensive threat at this point, so despite her great season, given the other names you listed, she isn't AA yet.

You need to add Ledger Walker to the All Freshman team. The WSU freshman is getting no love and really should be. If you had to remove one it would be either Hailey Van Lith or Westbeld.

I'd replace Clark with Awusu. Clark is good and a great scorer, but her team isn't that good and Awusu has Maryland clicking for a team that lost 5 starters.
