A UConn riddle

From a stat in John A''s article today in the Courant.

A team has play 26 times this season and lost two games. During the 52 halves they have played, they have only been outscored twice in a particular half. But only one of those two deficits came during a game that the team lost, the other coming in a game that the team won. How is this possible?

Obviously the answer must be no. Thus the ND/UConn game is the key.

That is the answer. The question is, "What is the name of the bridge between New London and Groton?"

Yep, one of those freaky type things where you look at John's stat and you think, no way. But it can happen. And a game that had two halves with teams matching scores exactly. And of course the stat was 52 halves, not 53 periods.

Gotta go look for a riddle that involves team rebounds, because they're so nonsensical that it will fry your mind even if you do solve the riddle.
