Kickoffs out of bounds. Punts kicked sideways. Missed FGs. Blocked FGs.

Wain and Puyol did their jobs and that was the difference.

Puyol gave Zecchino a LOT of love during the postgame interview. Not easy stuff for an 18 year old.

I initially mocked Maine for wasting their timeout to ice Puyol. Then later realized icing Zecchino wasn't the worst idea in the world.

I think I read somewhere that Nick Sr. has been grooming him to be a LS for years. He's probably been trained to deal with it.

I'm sure the kid is a machine - almost no one spends a scholarship on someone who just long snaps - but UConn was pumped up to get him.

The timeout made just a tiny bit more sense after I remembered it was his first game and it was a big spot where they could gag a game away to Maine.

I truly believe that all 3 components of football - Offense, Defense, and Special Teams are equally important. Tonight showed that.

I can't wait for the day Coach Diaco's deems punt returns a priority.

If we're just going to call a fair catch, why aren't we all out blocking the punt? Why not send 10 guys to block the punt if they're not going to block for the returner.

It is so embarrassing. It really is. We have a Coach who has no idea how to create a punt return team that can, uh, return punts.
