It's the season of maybe... maybe 4. History being made. Certainly still hurdles and challenges. But I want to enjoy every second of it. So, I'm asking everyone who seems fascinated with the "what do we do when Geno retires" question to get it all out by the end of January, so the rest of us can enjoy this possibly historic year. So, load up January, the shut it off until you can drown us all with it all summer????? Come on, take the pledge.

The Senator from the great city of near Philadelphia would like to offer an amendment: That all talk of Morgan leaving after this season be treated this same way.

I second that!

I'm in. But since you brought it up, my prediction and last word on the subject until official announcements are made, is that Geno ain't going anywhere for at least 7 to 10 years! Further, if Shea is still with him as an assistant when he does step down, she will be the next head coach.

Regarding Morgan, I have always thought she would stay for a fifth year based on her own assertion regarding same. I now believe that her knee woes have actually reinforced that. She and Geno will both be back next year.

So, for now, let's win some more and get number four ...in a row!

Over and out.

Its censorship, I tell ya!

Some high and mighty boneyard posters banding together to censor the rights of the rest of us to argue ad infinitum (did we bring this one up in our latin in common usage thread, Kib?) based on little information and less sense! Who gave them these rights to run roughshod over the rest of us!
To the barricades! We will be heard! We will not be QUIET!
WE WILL NOT ENJOY WHAT WE HAVE, but wallow in the fear of what may come!

(Now where do I sign up for this pledge?!)

Triple amen to that too.

If people don't like a particular topic, they don't have to read it. As long as threads are not in violation of the board rules, people should be free to express their opinion. There are numerous OT threads started on this sub-forum that do not interest me. Rather than making people take a pledge, I choose not to read or complain about them. Perhaps that is the simplest solution.

Couldn't agree more. I think we're stuck with this guy for a long time.

So 20 or 30 more years? This is great. Let's hope he can rack up 1,500 wins and 8 more titles! That's realistic, isn't it?
Well, he drinks a lot of wine so hopefully he'll not have too many heart problems. [knock on wood]

Oh, gee, thanks for the PC solution to a good humored poke at our dour New England penchant for ... ah, what's the point.

I haven't commented on the dooms day scenario, so I have no problem with making the pledge. Lets enjoy our team and the memories they will give us.

DITTO!

with the stumbling of Tenn, I think UConn fans are worried about "Life After Geno"

With Geno, there's always the hope that even in a down year, an up year is only a good recruiting class or an emerging star away. Even now, as he says himself, with the great class of 2012 about to graduate, teams are lining up to play UConn, hoping to get him before he can reload or put all the pieces together.....

I am lucky. For some reason, my computer allows me to read only those posts I choose to read.
I can skip the "when Geno retires" posts.
Maybe you need a new computer. :D

For the "Sake of the Season" I propose "Kaga Setsubai," a dry, sharp and harmonious sake from Ishikawa, Japan.
Just right for cold and snowy nights.;)

What.......better than Mad Dog?

Let's look at it this way. Considering the average age of our fellow Boneyarders, Geno will still be coaching when most of us are gone. #alwayslookingatthe brightside.

I'm thinking that with the example we have in front of us, UConn is carefully examining their coaching future to ensure there is no parallel. And I am QUITE sure that Geno/CD are driving the planning process.

Nah, it is an obsession about 10 months out of every year.

You are taking him too seriously.

Ten likes for Harry Mangurian. All subject matter have a title.Choose wisely.

I'm enjoying the hell out of this season and would be devastated with anything less than Stewie accomplishing the four national championships she stated she wanted to win from the onset of her college career.

Having said that, Geno will be 62 years old shortly, and the timing and circumstances of his retirement aren't just going to disappear from discussion.

After all, quite a bit could've been discussed by LV fans about Pat Summitt that was basically forbidden when there was, in fact, an enormous topic about her that should've been raised. And what happened after Pat retired was anti-climactic and warranted more discussion and debate earlier from the Tennessee fan base.

As is, we don't know when Geno will retire, why he will, what career milestones he'll have met or exceeded, and who might succeed him. I'm fascinated as to whether he gets to 1,099 total victories and if anyone out there wants the Uconn head wcbb coaching job, for instance.

I'm far less interested in the annual offseason " who starts?" threads that tend to be interminable, for instance.
