I see that Cincinnati has hired a new AD to replace the one that
was hired away by Illinois. So now Jamelle is working for a new
boss who didn't hire her.

She seems to be in one of those chicken or egg situations. She needs
good players in order to win on a consistent basis, but it's hard to
attract good players to a program that doesn't win on a consistent
basis.

She needs to find one of those Kerry Bascomb kind of players who
will help lift the program into respectability if not prominence.

WCBB at Cinci is small potatoes. who would they get who's better than a former UCONN asst. coach? i suppose anything is possible, but i doubt it. and i hate to say it, but i don't see her having any real success at Cinci. certainly they should rise from the cellar of the big east and i'm rooting for her, but some programs are destined to be perennially average...

It would be a very bad move on Cinci's part to get rid of Jamelle with her UCONN connection. Some recruits are drawn to Cinci because of this. It takes time to build a solid program and I truly believe Jamelle is the right coach to have at Cinci.

Jamelle is smart, tough and works hard ... all she needs is a break on recruiting and for people to start watching some games. As my favorite UConn player of all time, I am pulling for her.

For the time being it is probably in Elliott's favor that WBB is "small potatoes" at Cincinnati.

Jamelle may benefit now that Kevin McGuff is no longer recruiting in the same city as her.
