Whoever wins this is who uconn gets next. Anyone watching?

Sluggish start: only 4-2 A&M at the under-16.

A &M taking it to DePaul early. Now 11-2 with 13:20 left.

I'm all for Depaul in this game. aTm is more athletic than Depaul tho.

DePaul lives and dies by the 3-pointer. Today, they may die.

TAMU is more athletic, but I think we match up better with them. DePaul plays a bit like BYU and Joes.

I expect UCONN to play much better Monday. They will pound either one of these teams. I would though like to see DePaul win mainly because of Doug Bruno.

The rims at the end De Paul is shooting at was unkind to both UConn and BYU. Maybe things will change in the second half.

. Yeah, If DePaul can't hit threes, the aggroids are going to beat them to Chigarooogarem, Chigararoogarem, rough tough real stuff Texas A&M...

DePaul will not be able to handle UConn down low and does anyone believe that Bria and Breanna will have only 4 points at halftime of their next game? If you do, I'll take that bet. Texas A&M will not be able to outscore UConn. BYU will prove to be the tougher match.

This does not look like the DePaul squad that beat Duke in the previous round.

DePaul can't stop A&M Guards from getting good shots and A&M's defense to tough for DePaul. I don't think DePaul can drive to the rim to get baskets or fouled, so they'll have to rely on exceptional outside shooting to get back into this game.

As good a match-up as Duke was for DePaul, the opposite is true for A&M. A&M is a team you beat by turning them in to jump shooters. DePaul's helter-skelter game is giving A&M too many easy baskets. I'm sure Doug thought/hoped his team could make enough shots, but this isn't Duke's zone they're playing against.

I love the way Gary sent his team out.
Reasoned discussion
No hysterical rah-rah stuff

A&M has been one-dimensional on offense, and No post player, including Kelsey Bone, has been a good matchup for Stef Dolson. Both factors should do the Ags in on Monday.

At least Geno won't have to go up against his good bud....

One dimensionally shooting over 60%. How can you argue against that?

You can't argue against it (they did it), but this is not a team that typically shoots that well (44% on the season) and DePaul is a poor defensive team that gives up a lot of lay-ups. A&M struggles when teams force them to make jump shots which is what I expect UConn to do. I don't expect A&M to make most of them.

In a 7 game series, a team can afford to play the percentages. In a one and done scenario, there is always the chance of a team shooting 52% and losing as happened to Georgetown in 1985. Thankfully, UConn got their bad game out of the way today. We can all recall the scare Arizona State gave the 2009 team.

Actually, it might be the Cal game in 2009 to which I was referring; The Tiffany game.

That's what I thought you meant when I read your post. UConn trailed in the 1st half was up on Cal by only 2 points at halftime before taking control in the second half. Hayes scored 28.
