[B]OWLS TABBED TO FINISH THIRD IN THE SOUTHWEST[/B] The Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team was picked to finish third in the Southwest Division as the 2018-19 Northeast 10 Conference Women's Basketball Preseason Coaches' Poll was released by the league office on Friday. The Owls had an impressive 2017-2018 season as they went 21-10 overall and 14-6 in the conference leading them to capture the Southwest Division title and to clinch a berth in the NCAA tournament for the seventh time in program history. Southern opened their season with a win at the Bridgeport Conference Challenge on November 10th, where they defeated Post University 74-64, and the University of Bridgeport 73-55. They'll travel to Albany, NY on Wednesday to face Saint Rose in their first conference action of the season.
