@temery just confirming, this is how things should be done moving forward?
Yep. This is the way it worked for 15 + years. The mega threads are something that started a year or so ago. They are difficult to read and a waste of bandwidth.
To fill people in on why Reeves' composite ranking dropped so much:
ESPN had him 58th in their ESPN60 for 2018. A few people moved up into their top 60, forcing Reeves just out. But once you're not top 60, it's like you're unranked on ESPN, who's rankings are factored into the composite ranking.
So when Reeves left ESPN's top 60, his composite had a more dramatic drop. When ESPN's 2018 rankings expand to 100, Reeves' composite ranking will go back up.
Really want him, and seems like he's super high on us, hopefully we can lock him up relatively soon.
HIMYM fan? Let's get him.
Can't we just lock them?
Edit: I see that is what's happening.
Wow, that's a good looking shot. Good elevation and follow through with that right hand.
Hard time seeing how we aren't the favorite here, i mean the kid is from roxbury. He will most likely dominate the Adidas circuit and catch a boost this summer, will be interested if he then transfers up a division in nepsac a la MAL ( maybe brewster with our other major 2018 target, sid wilson).
Him and ayala are just insanely underrated in the grand scheme of things imo. Ayala has a composite of 104 on 247 and was doing as much as HD @ PSA recently, not even mentioning his work on we r1 with trevon duval.
Going to try and catch him playing at Holdernes tomorrow night, will report in
Not how it works.
BSPN guys get in a room and say :
This kid Reeves is fantastic. Top 60 easily and rising. Whos leading in recruiting him? Uconn? Drop him out of the top 100 immediately.
The key is getting an early commit; not going three deep for two years. Hopefully, Coach Miller realizes now by always being there you get taken for granted. Close it out and close it out early. Then do the class schedule stuff you live to do.
Why didn't they think of getting all their targets to commit immediately. Seems so obvious now.
Kentucky recruited Diallo for a year or two, so it must really be embarrassing for Calipari. To be thought of as the greatest recruiter of all time and not even be aware of Chief's "get them to commit immediately" strategy. Ouch.
The first step is to get the casual fans thinking - mission accomplished.
We lost Diallo when we did not dress him up for the Auburn game as JC would have done. Nothing else would have mattered. Take care of the class schedules later! At minimum, a goal should have been to cancel the UK official. Please note, UK got Diallo to cancel the Zona visit.
Sometimes middle aged fans don't realize many kids don't know what a sleaze bag Calipari has been over the years. When it comes to UK, we shouldn't be reluctant to negatively recruit.
Quite frankly, I like his follow through on his shot. While his body balance could be more vertical - he still seems to get a good arch and doesn't line drive it.
Do you mean the 247 composite?
Another night for @ajreeves11 who knocks down 6 3s en route to a 25 point night. Now 90 points away from 1000 @ Brimmer. This From Tom Nelson his head coach....
He favorited a tweet about how good Jalen was today, which isn't unusual for him.
I hope we press forward and are able to sign this kid early.
Just got another crystal ball pick from someone named Brian Flinn. Wouldn't comment upon it normally, but Killings just followed him a few days ago.
What is 'composite' ranking?
average ranking of all of the major recrutiing services
This guy just gave PC picks for Reeves & David Duke on the crystal ball. Grain of salt etc etc etc.
I didn't know Reeves was 6'6 and a wing. For some reason, I thought he was a 6'3 SG.
Can anyone confirm his size?
If he is as good as people say, we need to lock him up and keep him away from those PC bit_hes.
I've seen him listed at 6'5 throughout, and 6'6 recently.
He certainly looks like he's at least 6'5. And I agree with your sentiment... we should do everything we can to land this kid early. I'll be disappointed with KO & staff if we don't make that a priority.
KO himself has watched other 2018 guards like Singleton moreso than Reeves lately. I too would feel more comfortable just seeing the deal with Reeves early, but it seems like KO is in a good spot to land a very good 2018 SG.
I have little to no doubt that KO would beat Cooley here if he chooses to.
A bird in the hand ...
Is Larry's kid coming here?
