As frustrating as our offense seems to be, interestingly our 4 losses have been deviation from our season averages in our defense, not our offense.

Season PPG Allowed: 63
PPG Allowed in losses: 76

Season PPG Scored: 71
PPG Scored in losses: 71

Our offense has averaged the same in our wins and our losses, but its our defense that has sputtered against good competition.

*It's possible more advanced metrics out there, like pace of play, could be contributing to this but I don't feel like doing the research so here is my halfassed statistical "analysis" for what's going on in our losses. Just thought it was interesting.

**Each one of our losses has also come after cancelled games / layoffs.

Losses points per possession given up - 0.98, 1.05, 1.14, 1.29 (today) = 1.12
Wins points per possession given up - 1.00, 0.89, 0.97, 0.86, 0.90, 0.91, 0.80, 0.85 = 0.90 average.

Pretty much everything right there. For context, 0.90 is elite, 1.12 is terrible. That's like #10 in the country vs. #320 in the country.

Today was our worst defensive game by a mile. I attribute it mostly to their excellent shooting and some tight whistles on D.

Another very troubling trend I noticed is that, in our losses, the opponent is finishing the game with more points than we have. If we could just fix that aspect, we'd be golden.
