A cheer for the AAC

Okay, we all know it's not the greatest conference, but I'll take the good news where I can find it.

On Saturday, two of the AAC teams that have struggled the most this season scored significant wins.

• Memphis won at Vanderbilt, 71-60. It's the second year in a row that the Tigers have beaten the Commodores.
• Tulsa pulled a minor upset over South Dakota, 64-61.

And today, a couple more significant scores:

• UCF beat previously undefeated UC Davis, 62-55. This is a huge RPI booster for UCF as well as the conference.
• Cincinnati had Ohio State in a one-point game at halftime. Other than a bad third quarter, Jamelle's squad more than held their own.
