On a day when UCONN fans feel like they have been run over by a train, there is already a lot of speculation as to what coach Calhoun is going to do with many writers intimating that now is the time for him to walk. One problem with that though. They don't know Calhoun the way we do, as the stubborn driven guy who does not give in. and he sees what's happened as an NCAA kick in his teeth.
Even if every other quality player on our team now decides to transfer and if our new top shelf recruit changes his committment, Jim Calhoun is going nowhere. He's healthy enough and he was recently quoted in an interview on the FAN saying that he was going to be a big part of UCONN's basketball future even when not coaching. I have absolutely no doubt that he will not leave now with the progrsm in turmoil until he gets us on on firm footing and ready to contend for another national championship. This is his baby, and he is not leaving it on some doorstep. So for those of you wringing your hands and crying in your Rolling Rock right now, take a deep breath, put down the sharp knife and get ready to watch a big comeback story unfold. America loves that stuff (see Tiger as popular as ever competing in this year's Masters). We sit on 3 national titles and we will be back sooner than many think.
