Here is an interesting video on working to build team relationships between a generational player and the rest of the team.

Just waiting for Sabrina to work her magic for the Liberty.

I knew about (saw) the shove and bottle business but not everything else. Thank you for posting. I've known for a while that Satou Sabally is a truly impressive person off the court, as well as on, and this short video is one more indication of how lucky we are to have her in Eugene. I've also been wondering a bit about leadership at Oregon once Sabrina leaves, but now it seems to me that the answer is obvious.

Not sure Satou is going to be the leader Oregon needs next year. She is not as passive as Boley but really not an alpha and there were too many games especially at the first of the year where she just disappeared. Need someone who demands the ball and has a fire when things get tough.

Remember watching Sabally play for the German national team last summer. She was far the best player on their team. However she didn’t act it on the court. Was thinking that maybe it was because her teammates were all much older but not sure.

As far as next years Oregon team, not sure who the alpha will be. Think that if Prince is healthy, she will be very aggressive in the post. Also like the incoming PG Paopao. She has a lot of Sabrina as far as skill, getting teammates involved, and is very outgoing in personality. (Know that Page in the eyes of UConn fans is unmatched but for Oregon’s system, will take Te-hina. Read recently that the winner of the Naismith award will be between Buecker and Pao-pao. Not the only one who recognizes that Pao-pao is going to be very good.)

Satou is a much more natural leader than Sabrina. The comments from Geno on what it takes to be an effective leader...those are things that Satou knows instinctively. She doesn’t need Brett Ledbetter coaching her. She is very bright but also very charismatic. She is liked and respected by all of her teammates. As a sophomore she was elected chair of Oregon’s student athlete advisory committee and then chosen by the PAC 12 to represent the conference at the national SAAC conference. She may not be the off the chart alpha that Sabrina is, but she is already an extremely effective leader.
