Last week, I made a critical comment about some of the behavior of our fans. Well, this week, Husky Nation made me big-time proud!! The chants of "Let's Go Huskies" were audible on the tv all day long, from first quarter to last. A nice visitor's section packed with blue and making some noise!!!

A big shout out to all of the Husky Fans who traveled out to Maryland to see us triumph in the Edsall Bowl!!! (a shout out to BizLaw and the Boneyarders, too). Also, I saw that Dale Nosel was in the house as well!! Well done, everyone...

I second that. I was blown away with how loud it sounded on TV from our fans. Not sure if that was based on where the mic was placed or what but heard all the chants and the noise when our Defense was on the field. At times I was wondering why their crowd was making noise when they had a third down. Big time props to all of you!

On another note, that stadium looked barely half full, student section included. If that's the case, I don't buy the argument that having a sold out stadium makes you more attractive. UMD, while already in the ACC, was barely half full for a decent OOC game (yes I'm a homer for thinking UConn is a good game but still). Makes me not feel so upset that we don't always have full stands at our stadium.

What was the announced attandance?

The Uconn Husky cheer was ringing underneath the stadium walking out. Blue and white represented well today

52K. It seems bigger than it is because one end zone doesn't have seats

Kudos to the UConn fans who made the trip, sounded loud and blue. The players looked pumped to see all the UConn fans there at the start of the game. We're getting better as a fanbase.

it looked like the bottom level was mostly full by the second quarter, but that there were about 15 people in the upper two levels. apparently they've drawn up expansion plans there.

I know it has already been stated on this thread, but is there any other team that has done worse for themselves in realignment than Miami?? This was a team that was a national champion when they were in the Big East, and they were an NFL factory with all of the players they would send to the next level. Now, they seem to be a "mid-major" type team, suffering "mid-major" type losses. It's incredible to fathom that "The U" has fallen so astronomically.

I really, really can't think of another team that has done worse during realignment, including our "friends" at BCU (who at least had some success with Matt Ryan)...

The weird thing is that they did this by design, they wanted the guaranteed money because they knew it was only a matter of time before they went the way of SMU as a renegade program. It was the smart move for them and the university. The shocking thing has been that the scandal and craziness has persisted despite attempts to clean up the program's image. So, now they get the losses and the stain on the school's rep.

That was an awesome day in section 2 today. Packed in like sardines, but the atmosphere was great. The team pointing us out after the game as we continued to chant was second to none. Great times with some of the best fans today.

Best turnout for an away game I can remember. Not just with our numbers but our voices. I'm hoarse. Some MD fans who sat in opposite stands told us walking back to our car that we were the loudest contingent they can remember. Then again, I think they were all in their 80's!

agreed. granted we were isolated in our little corner, but it almost seemed at though we Husky fans made more noise on third down defensive situations than the Terp fans did

It's true. Quiet crowd there. They didn't really make noise until the 4th quarter.

Concur with all the points made. Uconn's fans sounded great and the "Let's Go Huskies" was very easily heard on TV.

Maryland's crowd looked horrible on TV, massive amounts of empty seats. If the stadium size is 52K, no way there were more than 25K at the game.

Saw several of the players look towards the Uconn fans after they made big plays. Loved seeing the symbiotic cheering. Fans and players both seemed to feed off of it.

Above all else, the players and coaches earned a win on the road against a BCS team and buried a lingering shadow. Let there be no doubt- Uconn was a better team and is on better ground going forward than UMd.
