All A-10 teams are in action today except the top two seeds, #1 Dayton and #2 VCU.

Today's games are hosted by the higher seeds. The winners advance to the quarterfinals, to begin play Friday in Dayton.

George Washington goes down to defeat in a slight upset. Was hoping to see some of Ariel Stephenson... but she barely played at all.

I don't understand what happened with her and Zambrotta this year. I know there were some injuries early in the season -- but if she's healthy enough to play at all now, how is she not getting more minutes? I haven't been following this team closely at all, but I'd be curious to hear the scoop.

Instead of a handshake line.... they were doing a forearm bump line...... my goodness

Dunno if Stephenson was tired of losing at Wake... or if Wake didnt offer her a graduate program she wanted, or what...... but she could have stayed at wake an lost in the first round of the conference tournament

Supposedly it was more about the graduate program.

She averaged less than 20 minutes per game.
24 games played and only 16 starts.
7th on the team in scoring with less than 5 ppg.

Stellar coaching going on at GW...NOT!

Seriously, what happened to Rizzotti? She did well at Hartford for a while, then seemed to decline. Nothing that I've seen from her teams at GW would indicate to me a trend in a positive direction.

The A-10 tournament has held mostly to form. #1 Dayton advanced to the final earlier, with a win over #4 Saint Louis.

In the other semi, #3 Fordham leads #2 VCU by 4 points in 4Q. Fordham had a double-digit lead early in 3Q but VCU is making a charge.

VCU cut the lead to 1, and a 93% free throw shooter for Fordham just missed 2 FTs

VCU has the ball, down 52-51 with 40 seconds to play.

And just like that, VCU gets a drive and a bucket to take their first lead of the game. 53-52 with 0:34 left.

Fordham really crumbled -- some might say "choked" -- in the 2nd half. They led 41-24 early in 2Q and then were outscored 39-17 the rest of the game. VCU avenges last year's tournament final loss to Fordham.

So it's 1 vs 2 in tomorrow's final, Dayton vs. VCU.

Dayton up 51-48 with 23 seconds left. VCU has the ball, just called their last timeout.

now on espnU

Dayton holds on with a nice defensive play by Sciafe at the end. 52-48.
