the polls represent how long since you last lost more than anything. We are the highest rated 3 loss team - which makes sense. Just keep winning (more than those above us) and it all takes care of itself.
The polls put little if any weight on how much you win games by. Like -- I don't know- the NBA, the NFL and MLB. I'm not saying the polls are anywhere near perfect by the way -- they're not -- but if you keep winning games over time you will only move up. Which makes total sense if you're trying to reward accomplishments (the only one is winning) and not be predictive (which is where the use of margins and other performance metrics become important).A little surprised. We haven't played well enough to move up...but hard to put anyone else above us there.
So far, we are undefeated in 2025.Besides hating losing games, as we put it in the review mirror it seems like Im not that upset at Maui. I think we are taking a negative and using it to positive (current and future) results. It gave us a wake up call on attention to detail, but more importantly it has put us in a position where we are a national afterthought right now. As a top 10 team! Maui has the country believing that we are not a serious contender. Meanwhile we go about our business winning every game since with very little fanfare or noise to distract. We may have been overrated to start the season, but we have been underrated ever since. I really like Dan Hurley teams who are sold short. Usually works out for us.
Undefeated since the last day in November. So far, we are undefeated in 2025.

Could be a time zone thing...?Undefeated on CONUS
I like how you describe this. I have become more deeply connected to the stats than the polls. That and my 72 point rule of thumb. The defensive kpi’s and the opps above 72-74 make me nervous even with a win. The team right now is more like any number of teams Hurley has abused in the tourney. Teams can kind of get theirs and if they slow down 1-2 of ours then we have a 80-72 exit in the 16. I still think that the D will continue to improve, it’s January, but time will tell. The polls put little if any weight on how much you win games by. Like -- I don't know- the NBA, the NFL and MLB. And not without a victory on an Island.Undefeated on CONUS
Probably pretty excited after their last 9 years of basketball. Also, how excited are Georgetown fans for their team to be labelled "Mid"?
Yes, Syracuse has a chance to become an American team if Canada becomes the 51st state. So you’re saying Syracuse has a chance.
BCU would kill for mid.Probably pretty excited after their last 9 years of basketball.
