Honestly, I don't think Wake deserved a bid. They were 8-10 in a pathetic ACC and 12-12 overall and most egregious of all, they lost to ND in their only meeting.

I know you look down your nose at the ACC, and have all season long, but the conference was really deep. Wake was deserving of a bid.

The thing is with the lack of many out of conference games played this season, teams were primarily judged on how well they did in their own conference. So the term deep just means a log of teams were playiing on an equal level. High high that level was is another issue entirely.
