Terrible TV times aside, I love the draw, much better than the 10th seed gauntlet.

All I'll say is kind of a weird coincidence, #9 seed playing Depaul again.

Im sorry but im having a tough time seeing why everyone wanted the 9 seed over the 10?? I hope its not just because we had the 9 seed last year or else that would be just nonsense. As the 10 seed our draw would have been PC, Louisville, Marquette...three payback games. There is no way Calhoun would allow this team to lose to Providence twice in 7 days even if that meant putting a jersey on and playing himself. Louisville has stumbled down the stretch and this Uconn team has something to prove after they quit when they played at the Yum Center and JC knows it. Yes Marquette is tough but id rather take my chances with them instead of taking on Syracuse again with a pro Orange crowd at MSG. I just think they are too tough for us.

Depaul is what it is, this will not be another 97-61 final like last year. We struggled with West Virginia at home and needed a rally to beat them. They will be looking for revenge and dont forget about Kevin Jones. Keep in mind this team still has not won back to back games since Jan 9 and 14.

1) By that logic we wouldn't win our first round game regardless of what seed we had.
2) We're due.

So you'd rather play Louisville over WV second round? We need wins. Assuming we take care of Depual we play a very beatable WV second round. Then the Cuse at 12 on Thursday who knows what could happen.

With the struggles this team has had against Louisville for pretty much the last 3 season I'm not sure how anyone would rather face them than WV. Who cares how they're playing now, do you really envision a game where Siva isn't running circles around Bazz/Boat, getting into the lane and either scoring for himself or kicking out for wide open 3 pointers that we can't defend? Or given how bad AD and to a lesser extent AO are at defending the screen and role not getting carved up again like we have against them? Plus UL will zone us, we've actually looked a lil better going against the zone recently but I would much rather go up against a traditional man to man team than play another zone. As far as Syr if they get that far, we bring fans to MSG too and given the history of the 1/9 matchup since expansion and how hard it is to beat a team 3x in one sseason, I'll take our chances in what is pretty much a freebie to pick up a great win to improve tourney seeding.

Because Providence is better tha DePaul and Louisville is better than West Virginia, that's why.

looking at the bubble, it seems like we need to make it to thursday to get a bid...the chances of beating DePaul and WVU are greater than beating PC and UL

i was using "everyone's bubble", the general concensus (which could obviously change) is uconn needs to win 2 games to get in

General consensus among who? I would much rather see the team make a run in the BE tourney to not only put together a better resume for the NCAAs but to see them finally start playing well, but b/w the guys who actually get paid to project the tourney and CBB analysts, the general consensus is that they're in the tourney right now.

the general concensus is that UConn is in the tourny if it started today...if this team doesnt win 2 games in the BE Tourney, this may certainly change. I do agree with the fact that we want to make a deep run (who doesn't lol) so avoiding Cuse would be ideal but i'd rather just secure a bid first by making it to Thursday rather than worrying about after Thursday. The path of DePaul and WVU gives this team the best chance to do so

They are probably in with 1 win - 2 wins makes em a lock.

But like ace, I want to see them make a run for momentum reasons as much as anything else.

so if we had beat PC, we would have been the #8 seed over WVU? would have a bye on Tues. but still have to go thru same WVU/SU bracket

Talk about overdramiticizing, my goodness. I feel like I just watched a bad episode of Days of Our Lives. They don't need to beat Syracuse to get to the Dance, 2 games and they're in and every win matters. They have computers on their side right now and the sniff test against them - they need wins. Whatever route is best in getting to 20 wins is they want here - that is definitely DePaul/WVU.

Did anyone see the DePaul-Seton Hall game yesterday? Was Seton Hall that bad or did DePaul figure something out for once?
