so after all this, a win on Sat and a win or 2 next week and the season is saved....................there aren't many times in life or basketball that you get this many shots at redemption. Come on boys!!!!!!

From Lunardi-
UConn stays in field despite loss at Providence, but has fallen to No. 44 overall on the S-Curve ("Last Eight In").

BUBBLE (26 teams for 14 spots)

IN (14, in S-Curve order): 35-Southern Miss, 36-California, 37-Cincinnati, 38-Alabama, 41-Arizona, 43-Seton Hall, 44-Connecticut, 45-West Virginia, 46-Mississippi State, 47-Brigham Young, 48-Miami, 49-Texas, 50-Northwestern, 51-South Florida

OUT (12, in S-Curve order): 69-Xavier, 70-Saint Joseph’s, 71-VCU, 72-Colorado State, 73-Oregon, 74-Colorado, 75-Dayton, 76-NC State, 77-Illinois, 78-New Mexico State, 79-Ohio U., 80-Central Florida

Hard to argue with this

At some point I think the committee is going to have to just use the common sense and eyeball test if this squad can't get their act together in the couple remaining chances they have left. They've sucked and have still had chances to play themselves in with minimal accomplishment and can't do it. You just can't deny losing 9 of 12 down the home stretch with 2 of those wins against bad/so so teams without best player and a DePaul, who is abysmal and the worst team in the BE by far. They haven't done anything worthwhile in 12 games. That's astounding.

As astounding as it may be, I have a hard time giving a a midmajor with a high rpi and a weak strength of schedule the same respect of any high major. its the classic debate, but my guess is a drexel or a vcu is a sub 500 team in the big east. the media is enamored with the butlers and vcu's of the world, but is this a tournament for disney type david vs goliath stories. i am no statistician, but i would argue the numbers don't lie.

I tend to think of it this way: If this was another school in another conference that carried the weight we do, I'd be saying "tough , they suck", so I don't expect a whole lot of sympathy or compassion from others. We aren't very good right now and it's a bad time to not be good.

As someone else mentioned, I don't think they deserve to get in. They've won 3 of their last 12! 3~! One to Depaul, one against Nova in OT. One against Seton Hall without their best player.

I'm not usually a negative one, but that is really, really bad.

Anything less than winning the next 3, and they are out. Go 3-1, still sweating it on selection sunday. 4-1, they're in.

who is more deserving? a 7-9 northwestern team? a 6-8 miss state team? an 8-8 texas team? hence, the term soft bubble. it isnt as much as what uconn has done lately but more how weak the teams below them are on a relative basis.

In a typical year, Uconn does not deserve to get in. But this is not a typical year.

It's not like you'd be replacing Uconn in the field with some world beater with a great record and tons of quality wins. Look at those other teams in the same category as us - it's nothing but 1) other major conference teams with lousy conference records or 2) teams from the Pac-12 and A-10 who haven't played anybody since December.

The rules say you have to take 68.

I don't care what Lundardi says, as of this morning we are out.

Too much bad juju for us with the NCAA and the committee. If it's a close call, we're out.

Lunardi is stupid and yea as of right now your right we are not in the tournament. We are 17-12 and 7-10 in conference. If we beat Pitt and win the first game of the BET then yea we will be in but unless that happens it will be very tough for us to get in.Hopefully Calhoun comes back for the Pitt game because I repeat I still like what I see out of our guys in general and like the basketball we are playing. The biggest adjustment besides just playing harder on defense is for the coaching staff to tell Ryan Boatright to be the one with the ball in crunch time and in times where we need to stop other team's runs.

we are 3-6 without calhoun in this last stint. of those six, we have lost a few very close games. i think if calhoun comes back and if we win the next 3 games, my gut tells me that the ncaa committee will give us the benefit of the doubt. i also think that its much better to have the defending champion in the tournament the following year than not.

Hard to get worked up about it. First, because it doesn't matter if we'd be in if the draw was today because it isn't, and second because we don't deserve to be in.

Ask me after we win our next three and I still think I'll be comfortable. If we don't, and we very well may not, it is what it is

Just curious, what happens or what to expect, if we get in?

Obviously we used up our miracle card, for the decade.
