When Hawkins, Jackson, Newton, Diarra, Alleyne and Calcaterra combine to shoot 9-40 from the field UConn will lose every game.

Throw in 2-17 from 3 and you get the idea.

But hey they were 5-7 from FT line.

Posters are gonna say “We’re better than them, we just had an off game.”

We are not better than them. Or Xavier, at least right now. We have no answers when we’re punched in the mouth. Hurley was supposed to be a toughness/effort coach, but anytime we come up against adversity we get beaten in those categories. Not to mention his in game coaching has just simply not improved. Don’t like where this season is heading.

The sadder part is a lot of these weren’t even close. They were forced off of sets that providence was ready for.

1000% agree with all of this. Was all fun and games when we out talented everyone and blew them out. But in a close game, I have ZERO confidence because our team becomes a reflection of our coach: nervously paralyzed.

It’s a long season, not a big deal.

Yeah, guard shooting was miserable and Sanogo was triple teamed so much...if our guards can't hit shots, we are screwed.

Someone turn the green light to red for Andre on that three pointer.

We clearly took a giant step backwards the last two games. Could be a lot of things....no excuses. We sucked.

We were pushed around and took shoots from where Pee Cee wanted us to shoot.

On the first two offensive sets, Newton went strong to the basket and needlessly passed the ball out to a worse shot than he had available, and Sanogo scored on a goaltending call when he didn't dunk it.

Did Cooley think, "Oh great, they aren't going to attack the rim and draw fouls," like I did?

If you consider AJax as a guard not a wing, here's a late game snapshot taken before Newton made his final 3 shots, and Diarra hit 1 of 4 free throws. Oof.

We lived in the paint all night (until like the last 3 minutes when we were down double digits).

Providence came up with every loose ball. They wanted more than we did.

We're more talented than them and Xavier, they were the better coached teams and played/executed better.

Talent doesn’t win games. They beat us because what they have works better together than what we have.

Newton and Jackson were a combined 0-3 from the field and 2-6 from the FT line.

Newton, Jackson, Diarra, Alleyne and Calcaterra were a combined 1-17 until Joey C hit those two late meaningless 3's.

Even with the two late 3's, the five of them combined for 3-19 and 13 points in 86 minutes.

Hawkins showed up big time. More than one of his TO's was caused by him trying to make plays for others. Outside of his norm but he was out there trying to make plays.

The Hawkins turnover # looks terrible but I'm with you. He was the only guy out there trying to make plays and playing with passion. We maybe lose by 25+ without his play. It was a pathetic performance by Hurley and the rest of the team.
