She does have 12 points now, so if she gets going, it forces Stanford to defend her and takes some attention off the Leger-Walkers.

Stanford being sloppy to start this half.
Yeah, she was 2-8 to start but 2 3's this quarter.

Stanford has 2 FG and probably 5 or 6 TOs this quarter.

Wake up Card!

54-37 thru Q3. Stanford was absolutely awful coming out of halftime.

edit--7 TOs, almost as many as they had shot attempts (10)

Both teams taking turns turning it over now.

Card had 3 TOs in the first half, now up to 12.

62-45 final media TO.

turnovers--WSU 19 Stanford 14, pretty sloppy quarter

Yeah, not Stanford's best half. Belibi and Prechtel both came in and travelled on their first possession. You can't do that if you want to stay in.

Van Gytenbeek had herself a nice three. Jump hasn't covered on defense, or taken an open three, so I see why she's been on the bench. Hopefully, we'll see some of them come in soon.

That was weird, Brink thought the shot clock expired but it was a live ball, she just quit on the play and WSU grabbed on O board. Then got the hook.

71-49 final. Tara cant be very pleased w/ the 2nd half.

Stanford's 15 TOs offset by WSU's 22.

Card did hit 9-19 behind the arc, better than average for them.

18 O boards for WSU, that's a little surprising.

Was put to bed in the first quarter. Think Stanford just lost interest...
Beginning of 4th quarter it was down to 13. WSU had a couple chances to cut it even closer. Game was definitely not over at that point.

17 each for Lexie and Kiana, 12 for Brink (+ 14 reb/5 blocks/5 assists) and 10 for Jones.

12 for Teder, 10 for Motuga. Only 15 combined for the Leger-Walkers. Charlisse held to single digits for the first time this year (and her career), was the Pac 12's leading scorer coming into the game.

Brink with 12 points, 14 boards, 5 assists and 5 blocks. She's the real deal.
Pretty quiet 2nd half, but that's definitely a great stat line overall.

Wow, only 8 combined FTs in the game. That's rare.

It was over. I don't know how "close" it would have had to have gotten for Stanford to actually wake up. But I can't imagine if the Cougs would have gotten to within 10, for instance, that it wouldn't have gotten Stanford's attention.

Anyway, they play again in a couple days, don't they? I anticipate a similar beat-down, but who knows this year?
Friday.

If getting outscored 19-10 in Q3 and giving up the first 4 points of Q4 didn't get Stanford's attention, I don't know why giving up a couple more buckets would've. They were just plain sloppy the entire 2nd half, tons of TOs. Like I said, Tara can't be happy.

No - Stanford lost focus, for sure. But my guess is because deep down they knew there was NWIH they were going to lose.
All year long I've felt like they've been guilty of drifting for long stretches of games. They turn it on briefly and bury most teams. But obviously with their back to back losses they showed they aren't good enough to skate like that without it biting them in the backside sometimes. They're a frustrating team to watch because I still feel like they could be the best team in the country, but they're running out of time to put it all together.

Stanford bounced back well. 2 straight wins. They blew out my USC squad and now Washington State. Can they go for the sweep on Friday?
