I just cast a hopeful vote for my Cardinals. I'm not terribly optimistic about their chances.

This game should revolve around handling Oregon’s bigs (or not) and the Cards ability to turn the Ducks over. Oregon has averaged 20.5 TO’s per game the last two games. Bigs can’t score if you can’t get them the ball. Ducks need to sharpen inside-out game with Boley and Mikesell hitting.

I'm a closet Duck fan - I wear an Oregon ball cap most days when I'm out on my daily walk. Not wearing it this week though....

I think you hit the important points pretty well. Louisville needs to avoid getting killed on the boards (limiting the second-chance points) and needs to win the transition game. Also needs Evans/Van Lith/Smith to hit a decent percentage from deep.

Welcome to the Expedia World of Putting Together a Roster in 2021. Oregon starts two Kentucky natives (Boley, Scherr) and one of their key subs is from Indiana (Parrish). No Oregonians. Lydia Giomi is closest (she's from Seattle).

Meanwhile, Louisville has one person (Robinson) from the state on their roster. But Hailey Van Lith is from the state of Washington.

So, how well can Cochran & the Louisville front line go against Sabally & Prince? That's one key point. While I've been pleasantly surprised by Scherr's PG managment, I'm not sure she'd going to be used to Louisville's lightning-quick pickpockets of Evans, VanLith and most notably, the sole Kentuckian, MyKassa Robinson. If Louisville can come out with a tie up front, I think they squeak by based on the back-court advantage.
If not, could get used to seeing Sabally and Prince on the foul line and Boley wide open to shoot.

Too bad PaoPao is done for the year as this too would have been a nice freshman look-in of Van Lith vs. Tehini.
This is really bad news for Oregon, since, like many here, I think turnovers (Oregon's) will likely tell the story. (The same injury happened at about the same time to Chavez two years ago.) For what it's worth, I have seen a video of an AAU game the summer before last between Scherr's Kentucky Premier team and Van Lith's ? team, and, in that game, Scherr was by far the better player. And perhaps dealing with Georgia's guards will have provided some help for dealing with Louisville's. On the plus side (for Oregon), Prince is completely healthy and game ready (and not playing like she's worrying about getting hurt again)--really for the first time this season, and both Boley and Mikesell seem to be approaching the kind of shooting one would expect given their history. So I'm guardedly optimistic, but I don't think Louisville will have a third straight subpar game in the tournament.

I have Oregon with relative ease against perhaps the weakest conference out of the PAC 12, B1G 10, Big 12, SEC bunch.

Good observation and it raises my question about Mikesell who was the point guard at Maryland and seems at best, inconsistent as a Duck. She should be able to fill in yet Kelly hasn’t really asked her to. This starts me to think that losing Taylor was actually a blessing for Maryland and could be the team moves the ball more efficiently.

Taylor played point for Maryland in the beginning of last season because Owusu was still adjusting to the the college game. As the season went on it became apparent that Owusu was the much better point and Taylor played more two. I believe Taylor saw the writing on the wall that this season she would have to play exclusively at the two and didn't want that so she transferred. If she would have accepted that role I believe she would be playing at a great level at Maryland

How did Hailey Van Lith just get stuck guarding Sabally in the key? No help either. Nyarra probably got away with an offensive foul but scored easily.

This is a 9 foot goal.
Don't believe everything you see!
There’s one on every forum. She is 6’7 I believe the goal is regulation. She done it many times, however I don’t believe in a game.

I guess preventing loss of possession was so important to Walz this early into the game that he took a timeout.

I’m guessing they were joking. It was obviously practice at the NCAA gym.

For ACC or Louisville fans - what's happened to Balogun? Haven't watched her much the last 2 years but she was so productive as a freshman at Tech.

Major acting job by Robinson, after getting away with a reach in. Picked up a cheap foul on Prince, now on the bench w/ 2.
