Here’s highlights from their meeting on 12/31/2020

Iowa punched them in the mouth early with mostly three point shooting. Might be a good strategy again in this game.

CVS was beside herself with the defense after this game; will be a good measure of how much RU has changed since then. (Should also be noted that RU's starting PG, Zippy Broughton, got injured 5min into this game, inserting Diamond Johnson into the starting lineup. Zippy played her first few minutes since this game in the last regular season game against Ohio St).

18-9 Iowa end of first

Not quite as big a punch in the mouth of Rutgers as compared to their last game.

Iowa almost always starts a game with a deficit. This is big for them not getting in a hole in Q1.

Maybe the rest of the country should be slightly concerned that Iowa is destroying a decent opponent w/out Clark doing much so far. Marshall probably isn't gonna be out of her mind like this again, but it's more than a 2 person team.

39-20, Marshall has 22 on 8-9 and 6-7 behind the arc.

It was 39-18 but Rutgers on a 7-0 run approaching halftime, makes it more manageable.

Rutgers can't fall that far behind. They don't have the offense to catch up.

Its a good thing for Iowa, to see other players step up and take over when Clark hasnt had her best stuff the last couple games. Iowa will be a tough out in the tournament.

Teams IMO will try to make everyone but Clark beat them in the tournament. Its pick your poison.

She is doing something though. She garnering a LOT of attention defensively and other players are stepping up.

Iowa has a puncher's chance in the games they play against on-paper better teams because of their streaky but potentially highly effective 3 pt shooting, plus a reliable center. If you're a team meeting them in the tournament, you'd best bring your defensive A game. Which can be tough sometimes against teams that like launching as soon as they're able, such as Iowa.

Plus she’s a tough/dangerous player to press.

There’s nothing like watching a good defensive effort...and this game is definitely nothing like it. Rutgers missing wide open shots and giving up wide open 3s to a hot shooting Marshall. Poor defense by both teams, but only Iowa taking advantage of wide open shots so far. Looking for some defense 2nd 1/2.

Rutgers is pretty solid offensively this year. Diamond Johnson is outstanding and Guirantes can heat up too.
