Sorry @DefenseBB , no Bonvicini on the call today. Krista Blunk and someone else I"m not familiar with.

Both teams ripping the nets to start, 8-6 Utes and I don't think there's been a missed shot yet.

edit--combined 8-8 shooting before there was a miss

I WANT MY JOAN BONVICINI FIX! What is she doing today? Someone find her.

This is by far the best I've seen Arizona look on offense so far this year. Their defense doesn't seem to be as stingy as last season. 26-17 Cats. Utah has hardly missed a shot, but Arizona has twice as many FGA.

edit--28-17 thru Q1

I've been waiting for Pellington to get going for Arizona. She's doing a bit of a Aari impersonation today. She's maybe not quite as quick, but close.

39-26 Arizona midway thru Q2.

This game has turned ugly. Both teams have gone cold. Getting pretty physical, Utah is giving more than they're getting I think.

Arizona was up 14, but now down to 8 at the half 41-33. I think Barnes made a big mistake. She sat Aari for half of Q2. She had 7 points in the first frame, but was ice cold when she came back in and hasn't scored since. She isn't in foul trouble. Coach outsmarted herself giving her more rest than she needed.

That was about as quick of a TO as I've ever seen to start a 2nd half. 2 quick buckets by Arizona less than a minute into Q3, Coach Roberts wants to nip that in the bud.

edit--well that didn't work, UA forced another turnover after the timeout

After going scoreless in Q2, McDonald has 7 points in 3 minutes to start Q3.

edit--Barnes subbed her out again, what is she thinking?

Barnes is not having a good game. Arizona was on the verge of blowing this wide open, so she took out Aari and Utah chipped away at the lead again. What is she doing?

Pendande has been a huge disappointment for Utah so far this year, but at least today McFarland is picking up some of the slack for her.

Maxwell is apparently a total boom or bust player this year. Averaging 23 ppg in Utah's wins and 7 ppg in their losses. She only has 3 today so that doesn't bode well for the Utes.

So...Reese just got knocked down by a screener and somehow picked up her 4th foul. Okay?

60-48 UA thru Q3. Foul trouble for Reese and Barnes limiting McDonald's minutes keeping this closer than it should be.

60-53. Why is Semaj Smith on the floor instead of Lauren Ware? Barnes is just making some weird decisions today.

Arizona turns up the defensive pressure and flips the moment again. They did that at the beginning of Q3. 66-53 now.

Torres beat McDonald on a drive starting out past the 3 point arc. How in the hell did that happen?

edit--waived off for shot clock violation

72-58 at the final media TO. Arizona has looked good for some short bursts, but overall the offense has stalled since Q1.

My ears really appreciate this game...

TOs and points off TOs are clearly the story of this game--20 Utah TOs led to 29 UA points. 13 forced TOs and 12 points for Utah.

Perhaps combined with McDonald giving rests on the bench - suggestive, no? I will add that Aari had health issues on this trip last year. I'm wondering if she has an issue with the Colorado air that carried over? Years ago, Rutgers did.
