It looks like there is a bunch of games that are NOT TELEVISED...not only exhibitions, but FIVE of the easier non-conference games:

Yale, Detroit, Loyola Maryland, Maine, Eastern Washington.

Even the game at Washington is not listed as being on TV, but the time is TBD.

I think that TBD means that it has not been determined where the games will be held. Look on the schedule and there is a little "TV" icon for all the other games. Also, when you click on each game, info pops up on the right that lists the TV channel if there is TV.

This is an area where warde manuel sucked and sucked big time.

UConn will have the majority of games that used to be carried on SNY now put on CBS Sports Network.

Last year UCONN had 13 games on SNY.

If Manuel had told the ACC, here's your piddly $2m total media rights check back, and you keep the rights to espn/cbs broadcast games, while UCONN gets its non-espn/CBS rights back, UCONN would have made more, much more, from SNY. Plus they would have an RSN invested in doing pregame, postgame, coaches show, specials, etc. All the while getting UConn more exposure on an RSN in the most important media capital in the world.

And then double down with UCONN fb and women's basketball.

That would have been a home run.

Instead Manuel let the AAC roll UCONN over and let Navy! get to keep its rights.

To those who would complain, "but that would make UCONN special." Well, duh. UCONN is special. UCONN men's and women's bb is a heckuva lot more special than Navy football. It is the only school in the AAC that has (or used to have) an SNY in its pocket. and the only school that captures its entire DMA.

Anyone know whether CBS sports has a HD channel? I couldn't find it on Cox. No HD = no relax for me....

I'm not an expert on how TV contracts and deals work so excuse me if my questions don't make sense, but won't having UConn on CBS more often expose them more on a national level? For example, I live in Seattle so I could never watch SNY games except through online sometimes. Now I should be able to watch all of them bc they are on CBS Sports Network. In terms of exposure maybe this is a good thing for Uconn??

id say that those remaining games will be picked up by SNY. Its still weird because of the contract UConn has with SNY and there will only be 5 games on it this season. I think id rather see the games on SNY. That was supposed to be a big draw for the New York market. I guarantee most people dont even know if they have CBS Sports Network or even watched it in the past.

I agree...being in Atlanta, I didn't get SNY so most of the games I watched were on ESPN Full Court. Which...had about the same picture quality as a Honeymooner's rerun.

CBSSN is HD on Comcast and will be a big upgrade for me. Also..I NEVER watched other games on ESPN Full Court because of aforementioned quality issues. But I did always check CBSSN for other games.

I have had CBSSN since it was CBS College Sports. Their studio shows don't suck, and they are going all in with their professional coverage lately. For those out of market, this is a better deal than having to fire up the ol iPad or ESPN3 on the computer. Of course, most cable systems require buying a separate sports tier to get CBSSN. I think if you do this, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the games played on there between CBB, CFB, even some college hockey (if you're into that). Also, they rerun their games all summer, a good fix for those who need it!

This is true, but it's a real kick in the teeth to many local UConn fans and SNY.

Agreed. CBSSN is not bad, actually. And I, for one, won't have to pay extra for it, unlike ESPNU.

CBS Sports will be streaming the games for iPhone and iPad, also via App. Whether this will be able to be AirPlay to AppleTV, who knows.

From August 12th announcement:

CBS has updated it’s ‘CBS Sports’ iOS app today with full support for tablet users, allowing iPad users on iOS 6.0 and up to access all of the on-demand and live content that the app previously only offered to iPhone users. The updated app doesn’t just bring a native iPad design with support for the larger screen as pictured above, but it will also now allow users to access live video. On top of on-demand content from CBS, the app offers live streams for a number of sporting events, including: NCAA basketball (January-April), PGA TOUR (May-August), and SEC football games (Sept-Dec). It also brings access to special events including “NCAA March Madness, The Masters, NFL Draft Day, PGA TOUR and more.”

I've got Comcast here in the Hartford area. Both ESPNU and CBSSN are not part of the basic HD plan. :(

I guess I'll be listening to Joe D and/or catching the ESPNU games on delay on ESPN3. Just like the old days...listening to games on the little AM radio.

CBS Sports Network games are not streamed on the CBS Sports app. The app only streams games on CBS.

So they are televised, but not streamed? Your thread title is misleading and will certainly lead to undue outrage, if my understanding is correct.

Didn't, but will. Did you see my earlier post? They announced on 8/12 they will be streaming NCAA Baasketball. AND they updated the App on 8/12.

I live in AZ and with Direct TV watched almost every UConn game(SNY or MASN last year. This year is going to be awful . Had to buy the Fox sports package. On promo last year it was 8 dollars a month.
Even CBS games could br regional. For us not in the region It looks like we're screwed.
How go I watch UConn this year?

The NCAA games they will stream are CBS games- NOT CBS Sports Network games.

This is the exact same as last year.
