I think it was 2 seasons ago that the sports' editor of the Courant decreed the Rule of 5s. Stories had to have 5 things on point and appropriately labeled. This story trumps that. 5 good things for the women Huskies and 5 that need work. What's the first good thing? That would be Paige Beckers.
" The freshman point guard has been just as good, if not better, than anticipated. Her 18.2 points and 5.8 assists per game are both team highs, and she has already shown a knack for taking over stretches where the Huskies need an offensive spark. For instance, in her first road game and UConn’s narrowest win yet, Bueckers’ season-high 25 points on 11 for 14 shooting propelled UConn to victory over Seton Hall. Her offensive instincts, court vision and ability to create for herself and others are already leaps and bounds ahead of where a typical freshman would be at this point in her collegiate career, and at various points she’s already appeared to be the best player on the court."
Nothing earth shattering, but something to read on a Sunday afternoon.

Five positives, five areas of improvement for the UConn women five games into the season
Those five games have taught Geno Auriemma and his staff more about this group of players than the last few months of practice ever could. As the team resets around the holidays and gears up to play a pair of ranked opponents over the next two weeks, here are five positives and five areas of...
